When you guys are designing your cages, how do you solve the problem of removing the cage to do all the finish welding? I'm referring to any K-5 75 or newer. Been trying to figure out how to weld the tops of the bars between the roof and the cage. Haven't built it yet but would like some ideas or pics if possible. Thanks

If you're tying into the frame then just be sure that you can lower it enough to weld. If bolting to the floor then you could consider cutting off the roof to finish it out (no shit).

It will be " tied " to the frame via 1/4" flat plate. I knew it wa gonna be a biziotch, but i thought i would hit up the gurus and pick some brain cells. Pics are my friend so if there are any out there, i could use them. Thanks for the Austin k5 site but i don't want to belong to another forum.

You can cut holes in the floor, drop thelegs down in them and then weld the top. after wards raise the cage up and put the plate sunder it covering the holes.

Build and tack the cage up in a design that has the rear down tubes as stand alone pieces that weld to the halow or side bars. Knock them off before finish welding and lay the back of the cage down to allow access to the top of the seams for finish welding. Then re-install the rear down tubes and finish weld them. To get the sides good slide the entire htign back enough to be behind the roof with the top off.
