Neen a pair of 14bolt sent out to 80121. Without scaning 30 pages....do you do next day or overnight shiping.....Thanks Harold

But normal Colorado shipping is 2 days anyway......It would cost $30 more for faster.

2 1/2 times larger!

I have another designer beginning next week to help take much of the load off Garett and I so new things should move faster. We are also hiring 2 more welders because of the increasing demand every week and all the new items that require welding....I hope that gives you an idea of where we are at!

The caliper pins go above and below the springs, 1 high and 1 low.....Its kind of funny, one of my competitors copied ours but changed the bolt pattern to make them different. They obviously had no 14 bolt experience. You could not remove the calipers without removing the leaf springs and you could only bleed them if you stood the truck on its nose! I won't say who but I have pictures and copies of their advertising saying how they "Improved" them!!

I told him we have held this low price & not needed to change this design for all that time and we would stick to what works! No reason to change....

These have been $50 a pair since the start, we haven't raised our prices, now I do think we had a bit of pressure on the general market though. When we released these all the other guys sold theirs for $65 or more, now they have had to lower their prices to compete!

OK, this question has probably already been answered somewhere in the 40 plus pages of this thread but I didn't see it so... :flipoff2:

Will these brackets (and other recommended parts like rotors) work on the "second generation" (88'+)14 bolt axles? I know the TSM kits have two different models for the two types of 14 bolt axles but I'm not sure what the difference is between the two.

After '87 GM changed alot of thngs, some of them likely led to the slump they are still in....GM started buying from the lowest bidder on nearly everything and on the 14 bolt the brakes seemed to change every 6 months. In about 30% of the cases these fit. On the rest they fit with a spacer but you need larger wheels because the rotor is farther inset because on all of the newer axles the rotor will go on the outside of the hub unless you change studs and drill your hubs for the larger studs.

So lets say were talking about the other 70% that will need spacers.

They will fit only the first 2 years ElDorado calipers, after that they switched to the small pattern....For Canadian shipping we use USPS Flat Rate shipping but the brake brackets only weigh 6lbs and the box can take 20lbs, those boxes are $24 each so its in your best interests to fill it up if you need anything else. USPS dosen't charge a brokerage fee and abides by NAFTA so no duty on US made products, unlike UPS....

Dan,

I have a custom rear axle I'm building for my CJ - using Chevy D70 SRW spindles and hubs - (didn't realize that chevy SRW D70's use what looks like SRW 14B outers)

I want to install disk brake brackets - what measurements should I provide to verify the 14B brackets will work (or not work)? I know the mounting hole spacing, but how about the spindle brake mounting flange to the disk brake mouting surface on the hub?

Let me know what you think - Thanks !

One of the things I have learned the hard way is that adapting something is much harder than it sounds. I would likely use the weld on brackets for your application to make it easy.

sjsst41
11-03-2009, 09:09 PM
I'll give you a call tomorrow - I did some measuring tonight & your Ford Dana 70 brackets look like they may work. I forgot I had a chevy SRW 14B kicking around I could compare the 70 spindles to. The mounting hole pattern on the chevy 70 spindles are the same as on the 14B - the difference is the mounting surface for the backing plate is .75" closer to the hub (more outboard)

Do you know the bolt hole pattern on the ford 70 brackets you offer? - is it the same as a 14B?

I'm definitely going to buy a set of SRW 14B brackets for the axle I have kicking around here - and a second set of something to fit the HP60/70 hybrid I'm building.

Thanks

Steve

A picture is worth a 1000 words - maybe this should be in tech, but here goes.

The SRW 14B spindle measures 7 1/4" from flange to end

http://i97.photobucket.com/albums/l224/sjsst41/14b_srw_spindle.jpg

The Chevy D70 spindle measures 6 5/8" from flange to end

http://i97.photobucket.com/albums/l224/sjsst41/chevy_dana70_spindle.jpg

The difference is 5/8"

The SRW 14B measures 4 5/8" from disk mounting surface on hub to disk bracket mounting surface

http://i97.photobucket.com/albums/l224/sjsst41/14b_srw_spindle_hub.jpg

The Chevy D70 measures 4" from disk mounting surface on hub to disk bracket mounting surface

http://i97.photobucket.com/albums/l224/sjsst41/chevy_dana70_spindle_hub.jpg

Same delta as above, 5/8"

So if the Ford D70 bracket you offer has the same square bracket mounting pattern as the 14B (~3 3/8") and the differences in the bend offset is approximately 5/8" less (than the 14B), then send me a quote for one of each shipped to 03031 :D

If you want - I can still call you to discuss. I also think I could make your standard SRW 14B bracket work - I'd just have to bolt it to the flange side facing the diff - I have to measure it, but I bet I'd get the offset I need. (thickness of the bracket + thickness of the flange, probably closer to 3/4" than 5/8")

Thanks

Steve

Just placed an order for a HO52.

Looking forward to the swap.

and on that note, I am unable to find the correct bracket for my dual rear wheel HO72. It is the 3/4 and 1 ton 8 lug chevy axle used from 1947 up to and most likely past 1972. zero changes during that run. Mine is OEM to my 1955 1 ton dually and I happen to have a 1972 1 ton dually and they are identical axles.
Need disc brake bracket and REALLY prefer NOT to weld on.

Maybe I can visit for a day and bring you the truck with the axle installed? maybe send pictures?

Which disc to use?
Thanks! great products!!!

I haven't yet tried that dually axle, it may be the same and it may be entirely different, give me a call and we can compare some numbers...

Just installed mine this past weekend. It was a very simple and straight-forward install... The only headache was that I bought zinc coated calipers and the tolerances were too fat so I had to grind the calipers a bit to make them fit. Other than that, it was the simplest of mods and a high quality part.

They are made with a tight tolerance, they are not supposed to be tight but they are not meant to be loose either :D

Its a lifetime guarantee but there has never been a broken one that I know of, ever...And thats with over many thousands of pair in use. I think he would call if he did...I actually have never heard of any 14 bolt brackets ever breaking from any manufacturer, its a pretty bombproof design....

Our Single Rear Wheel (SRW) will not but the Cab & Chassis (CNC) is made for that axle. I believe we are still the only company making them for dually axles. The offset is substantially different.

Quick dumb ?.
I have a HO72 axle that was SRW.
I have converted to C&C hubs and the rotors have moved inward.
Which bracket do I need??

Is this it?

I haven't tried that on an Eaton but if all things remain constant they should fit, the SRW brake brackets do but I don't have a set of Eaton C&C hubs to check.
