Can anyone tell me if I can put a TH350 tranny in my 92 silverado 4x4? My 700R4 is about to die and I don't want to pay 1400. for a new 700R4. I also tow a travel trailer that weights about 7000 lbs. so I need a strong tranny right? Please help thanks. Bobby:rolleyes:

a th350 is no stronger than your 4L60 trans. besides, your gas milage will go to hell. you can buy an adapter that allows you to swap out the 700 in favor of a 350 but i don't think that's the way to go.;)

I'd keep the 700, its a great transmission, fuel mileage will go down as stated by orangefj and the turbo 350 isn't much lighter either so no benifit to swap out...the first year of the 700 had like 40 different valvebodies and the cases were crap until 86 or 87 with improved planateries in 88 so your 92 is a good core to rebuild just make sure if you get a reman its an 88 or later or 87 if you can swap out the planataries ...not sure when the 10 vane pump came out but that would be a good upgrade if you dont have it.
