I am putting a 2.5" OME lift on my '97 fzj80. 4wheel parts has a buy 3 get one free on rancho rs9000 shocks. Are the ranchos better than the OME shocks? I like the adjustable nature of the rs9000s. Second, anyone know of a USA header fro the fzj80. Thank you.
Ricko.

I like the R9000, but I also like the OME FJ-80 shock. Very nice and they are designed FOR the FZJ-80.
I would go with the OME's myself.
As for the header, I have never heard of one bing offered here or in OZ.

Man-A-Fre had headers for the 1FZ-FE in its catalogue from a few years back (the one with the red 80 series on the cover). Don't know if they still sell em. I would be weary about putting headers on an 80. There are an awful number of computers and plastic under their hood that might not like the extra heat. Ask JJJ about the headers he had on his 3F equiped 80.

Listen to Nolen and Ross, these guys know! One more thing...forget headers, you have a 1997, get yourself a TRD Supercharger if you want more power.

OME shocks for sure!
TRD is worth the $$ also

Yeah forget the headers. They will only give you about 10 more horsepower if you are lucky. Not worth it. The TRD Supercharger will give you 100+ horsepower for sure. Well worth it!

I use the RS 9000s with my OME springs on my FJ60. I like them. I have the in cab controller installed now and I really like that, no more mud on the head when I'm at the end of day of trails. My friend had the OME shocks on his 80 with the Heavier OME springs. It rode like a dream when empty or loaded. The one advantage I can see of the Ranchos would be the warranty if you were going to keep the 80 forever. The OME shocks also have the steel rock guards which is nicer than the rubber boots. If it were up to me I'd probably go with OME shocks. No hassle figuring out numbers or lengths, they still might be slightly cheaper than the RS9000s. No adjustments to mess with, just go.

I replied to your post on CCoT, get the OMEs from 4wheelparts, they are $65 a piece.
