Well Bassi ended up having a small turn out this weekend. quite a surprise from all the poeple who I talked to who said they were going up. The samurai did great and had no problems other than fawking up the wench pulling my bronco up the nasty. We trashed the bronco. I took the obstacle after the pond full bore. I hit it fast and my bumper flew off, my dash board came up into my face and my coil spring popped out from under my truck. Took us all but 15mins to clean up and we were off agian. until I realized I had cracked my battery and it was toast. Luckily some guys dodge d50 was toasted so he gave me his battery free. We are going back up this friday to give it back if possible. Trail clean up was ok. we chopped up that trailer and moved it to the fron of the trail. we couldn't find anyone with a enough room to take it all out to the dump so some of it is still left but most of it is gone. I hope the rest gets taken before sierra club sees it. There were rumors of poeple seeing "spies" in the trees and stuff taking pictures of poeple and the mess by the trailer. This is why poeple need to take immediate action when we see a mess like that. Some other guy was out there saying he was half owner of calRocs and that he lived in pollock pines. He was talking all sorts of crap about if they closed bassi down or put a gate up he would come out and cut the gate down and if they closed the rubicon that "poeple" would burn it down. does anyone know this guy? He said he had a competition jeep in his yard but they show up in a stock Rocky?

Here's something I saw on another board,

The Bassi Falls trail is going to be closed. We got the chance to talk to the local Ranger from Freshpond on Saturday and he gave us the skinny. The land belongs to Sierra Pacific Inc. (SPI) and they have a "no motor vehicle" policy for ALL their land (they are the second largest land owner in California). The Forest Service is trying to keep a trail open to "foot traffic only". The trail will be blocked off just past the campgrounds in a couple of weeks.
If you can, go run it this month and take lots of pictures.

Anyone else hear about this??

this is what I have heard as well. They have already closed off some parts of the extended trail. the firemans trail has already been disgustingly logged and I imagine the same will come for bassi. :( :( :( :( :mad2: :barf:
