Well after all the BS and $600 I went through for this Dshaft from Arizona drivelines it basically falls apart. I was climbing a steep muddy hill with tree roots and was having trouble getting over the roots I bumped it over the roots pretty hard and next thing I hear is bang bang bang. I wasn't even in double low ,it's an open front and it was very muddy . The shaft has several runs on it but the u joints are still like new it should have never failed . The weld had no penetration on one side here a couple pics .

I bought both front and rear shafts from them and each time it was a big hassle . I now have a local company that can repair/make me new shafts so It makes it alot easier . They actually bought the tube from AZ drivelines to make my new rear shaft. I can repair the broken shaft myself that's no big deal but for what their charging for these things they should hold up better than this.

I bent a front AZ shaft when it was new and they replaced it, however this was 4 years ago. I've actually had zero problems since then, and i'm happy with them now, but one of my buddies hasn't been so lucky. I know "AZrockcrawler" had problems with bad welds on one in the past also.

I had big issues with them a while back.Took WEEKS and WEEKS to get my driveline.I finally received it after damn near making terrorist's threats.
Then, less than a year later, the damn double carden carrier twisted up on me and basically I had a completely worthless pile of crap.In making the D/C high angle capable, they had removed too much material in key areas for it to be structurally sound. When I called them back and explained the whole mess,I learned they had recently changed ownership and the whole debacle the first time round,"Sounded about right" according to the guy on the phone.
He said to ship it down and for the cost of shipping, they would make it right.I did,and 1 week later I had my driveline completely rebuilt and repaired for the cost of shipping.
Am I happy with the unit?,sure.
Will I call on them again?......nope,Im calling Jess at High Angle for my next driveline.

I broke one at the weld in the sand - with 60hp - had to run it into town and have a muffler shop weld it up on a late saturday afternoon - after I got home from that trip I ground down the muffler shop welds and went over the whole shaft myself. Been fine since. Those fuckers definitely need to learn to weld. Unfortunately, they make a few semi-unique items that force some of us to buy from them, but I 100% garuntee if I ever get another from them, I'll bring it home and go over it myself.

I was wheeling with scwafish on the Con and his AZ shaft came apart at a cold weld in the middle of the Little Sluice. That was not pretty.

Try looking up "Driveline Service" here in West Sacramento. I have used them and know of a lot of 4 wheelers that have also with great success. They know what they are doing and I think they have even sponsored some wheelers. When I went to them after lifting my Sammie they went out crawled under it and measured everything. They suggested the Toy CV shaft and I couldn't afford it at the time. After dealing with the vibes for a while I had them install a new Toy CV on my reat DL and haven't had any problems since.

A friend of mine has several acres of woods and a small rock garden. They held a mudstock event a few years ago. It is just north of ELI LILLY on Highway 63.

You can see where the weld was so crappy that it rusted UNDER the weld.:shaking:

I also had major problems with AZ driveline. I ordered a rear shaft the first week of april. no sign of it in 2 weeks . i called them and they said the mail lost it . so they sent me another one finally got it a month later the day before a big wheeling weekend. I ordered large flange and they sent it with small flanges. I was extremely pissed. I had to redrill my flanges. not cool. then after wheeling one day , one flange bolt busted right off the shaft. I will never get anything from them again.

That sucks..
Now the $40 I spent on steel to make my square front driveshaft with a Toy CV up front doesn't seem so bad.. :)

Jess at High angle set me up with both my cv shafts. Had the whole weight of buggy on them and just some scratches. Works awesome.

I Had Them Make Front & Rear For My Daughters Cruiser. I Gave Them The Length From Flange To Flange & Guess What. They Made 'em Exactly That Length. I Didn't Have Time To Send Them Back So I Had My Welder Buddy Shorten Them For Me. They Seem O.k & Don't Vibrate.

I called them today and they said to send it in and they would look it over . He told me if in fact the weld was no good they would warrenty it but I have to pay the shipping there and back . By the time I pay shipping I can have it welded up local . Ive got a friend with a lathe and big mig machine so I'll take my chances and weld it up myself . I don't think my 140 hobart is hot enough to do the job.

With flux core wire, your machine should be able to handle it, but it depends on how much you trust your skillz :D

looking at the above pix, it should not of been welded with the mig, in my years of driveline experience, welding axles shafts should be stickwelded with weldall rods which contain a percentage of stainless in them also the weld prep needs to be a good 1" wide and go down to about 3/8 dia, also when they do break they will never break in the middle of the weld but rite at he end of the weld or next to it.

I weld alot at work so it's not my :massey: skills I'm worried about just want to be sure it doesn't happen again and with the use of the lathe I can get it perfectly straight. :flipoff2:

my dad called and was quoted 105 for each flange for the toy stuff. that wasnt even for the shaft or spline
how about some more info or names to drop to get in on this pricing your claiming :D as it is he already sent them 2 core shafts so they can get started on the retubing as soon as he has the dimensions and hopefully get shafts back in time for zukimelt
