: What size nut

Nobody seems to know in the IH section. What size and thread pattern is the nut for a saginaw box shaft? The one the holds the pitman arm on!

Well, it takes a 1 5/16" wrench to tighten it....and by tightening it, I didn't lose mine so I don't know what the inner measurement is:flipoff2:

WOW, what insight. I never thought of that. :rolleyes:

Unfortunately, that's not something I can do over a lunch break. However I can run by the nut and bolt store and pick one up if I know what it is. So why don't you go outsite with your pipe wrench and micrometer and get some measurements for me. :flipoff2:

Well I went on my lunch break and bought a $.90 7/8" fine thread nut. What do you know, it works! Thanks Eric.

Okay I just confirmed it. Went to the hardware store paid $6 bucks for a 7/8 fine thread nut and lock washer, came home put it on and it fit perfectly. :D
