First off, I'm gonna catch shit for switching brands, but it's the flavor of the month. I got a '78 Golden Eagle, 304, 112K miles, overheated once on me when I first got it 2 months ago, so I threw a bunch of money into the cooling system and thought I had it right. Here's the laundry list; 4-core Extreme.com all metal radiator, Milodon High Volume water pump & High Flow 160* thermostat, Flex-a-lite #575 electric fans w/ controls, new hoses everywhere, flush, and fresh 50/50 antifreeze. Timing is at 3* BTDC. The temps dropped a little bit, but not much. Then today, during a shake out for next weekend, it rose up to maximum H on the Interstate, just further up the road than before. Outside temps were 90*-92*. Took the service roads home, engine temps back to normal, and while backing into the garage, antifreeze shot out from under the hood. I fiqured a hose let go or something. Opened the hood and discovered a hole in the middle of the new radiator, (less than a 100 miles). :mad3: I'm waiting until we both cool down before I get a closer look at the damage tonight. Sorry for the rant, may need a suggestion or two, thanks. :smokin:

Here's what I found. 2 opposing fan blades flew off the blade assembly and ripped through the radiator. The radiator is on my dime and the Flex-o-lite has a little warranty issue. Nothing entered the fan area and there was plenty of clearance. Now that gives me something to do. :smokin:
