: BBQ at my place 4/27
JoshC 04-16-2002, 02:57 PM My wife is going out of town for the weekend and I'm taking my boys wheelin on Sunday.
That leaves me, taking care of myself and my kids on Saturday. I havn't any idea what I'm doing and the boys and I will probably starve. Can you help?
If you know how to cook food, or where to buy beer... Please bring it over to my house on Saturday. My children and I will be very appreciative.
Get there any time after 10am and stay as long as you want. My kids are 5 and 9 and half the friggen neighborhood is usually at my house so if you can't stand kids, stay home. If you have kids, bring them.
Mark? Todd? Welldoneman? Amanda? Joe? John? Randy? Anybody else near Brentwood, CA?

don't have a trailer here in Davis that I could bring, sorry. My friend Steve from Sacramento is going in his Terra, but it isn't my place to get him to do a favor of a friend of a friend kinda deal like this would be. :( Woodburn is *just* far enough out of the way to make it not workable for him, as we'll be on a tight time schedule. Sorry about that, I usually help people out like that, but I just can't this time.
Let you know by Saturday the 27th? No problem, I'll know by the middle of next week, I'm sure. Thanks.

The only problem is both our wifes will be out of town, so I have to mind the kids, but my 3 year old does need to learn how to weld.:D

Play it by ear. I am picturing a really nice Saturday where I'm sitting on the couch drinking a beer, standing over the Q drinking a beer, telling the kids to stop fighting drinking a beer, working on the rig drinking a beer. Just bring your own tools. All my shit is hiding in my fawked up garage/storage/dump.

Yup, that's what I want, I might go lower almost the same of the SSII inserts. So you can get in and out without opening the door.

If I was going to do a SSII style. I would do it out of Fiberglass and make the opening the same shape as a CJ half door.

Tis expensive, the breakers will run you about $50.00, another $30-40 in other stuff. I can do it if you want to pony up the dollars. But you do need a 220 circuit in that garage.
Mark, is that 220 2 phase or 250 single phase?

Yup you are right the plug is a 50 amp style. I used a 40 amp breaker and it was only 18.00 at Home Depot. My 200 amp breaker/meter panel is a Square D, I guess some of the other styles/makes are more $$.

I'll have to double check. I got the breaker from Home Depot. It takes up 2 slots in my breaker box. If you guys are serious about this, I'll get all the details and let you know.
My guess is that the install will cost right around $100-150 depending on how much conduit you need.

If I remember the box is outside the garage. Easy enough to use a small section of conduit to tap into the box from inside the garage. Keeps the wire lengths nice and short and saves some money as the 8ga wire aint cheap.

No such thing as 2 phase. There is single phase and three phase. It's going to be 220 V

0.17 per foot? It takes 3 wires to make a run so that means a 20ft run is 8.10 in wire! :flipoff2:

I'll take your word for it, AC aint my thing, 12 VDC is what I know.
But my ARC welder uses a 250V 50 Amp circuit single phase, I.E. One leg from each hot and no neutral. I had to check with the old man (he's an electician) before I wired it.

Josh- count my buddy, Dave, out :) If he can make it, he'll bring his own eats.
Shite. I was looking forward to seeing that built cj. If he can make it that would be great. Don't worry about the food thing. We'll probably be eating like pigs and drinking like fish all day.

Are you going camping with Joe and I in May?
I was just looking at your wanted post for 44's. Do you just need them for the TTC? Maybe you could just ask to borrow one until the event is over... Just a thought.
Why aren't you coming to the BBQ?
Rubicrawler 04-25-2002, 08:41 AM I'm soooo ready for a break! I can't wait 'til Saturday :bounce:

The warning went out a week ago! I think so long as we don't drive in the field across from the hous they will be fine with it. They are already use to seeing me work on my junk in the driveway anyhow.
Old Scout 04-25-2002, 09:14 PM I got the second keg today. :D :D You main stream beer drinkers will enjoy this. (http://www.sudwerk.com/beers2.html)

Looks great... and BTW, we are steady stream beer drinkers, not main stream!
What's this shit I hear about it raining off and on? Oh, and Mark, not going to even bother trying to get electrical in tha garage with it as messy as it is so you can leave sparky at home. Thank though.
Rubicrawler 04-25-2002, 10:09 PM Fu*king hell, no sparky? Oh well, give's me more time to drink
We'll have to attack the electrical another time :)

Hey Robert, that's good shit. They make it right downtown here in Davis, of course. Gawd, if we drink all of that none of us are gonna make it home Saturday night. Should be fun....
