OK share. What is your to do list, other than getting rid of your shims?

I was just thinking how horrible traffic is going to be coming back that monday. What is the plan, anyway? Maybe I should play on the rocks Saturday then I can beat the traffic back over the mountains after? Wonder if I can get Tuesday off work as a vacation day .....

Not all of us live an hour from their, on the easy side of traffic, no less :)

1. Swap in a different front housing, 2" narrower and SUA so I get to weld on my own perches and eliminate the front shims
2. Fix the rear perches
3. Shave the rear 60 pig
4. 4.88's F & R and a lockrite for the front
5. Different rear springs & more trimming on rear fenders
6. Rear anti-wrap device
7. Replace winch solenoids
8. reinforce spare tire carrier so the spare doesn't cause it to break off again
9. HEI distributor for the 472
10. Flush the fuel tanks, and rework the filler necks

1 is highest priority, 10 is lowest.

Yes I'm sure the traffic will suck Monday. There won't be any traffic for me at all, I come from the HWY 410 side. If Chinook pass is open by then you could pop over that way. I can wheel any day Memorial weekend, possibly even Friday. As it gets closer we'll put together some concrete plans, whatever works out for your group should be fine w/ me. :)

You do have a few projects.... and some money to spend as well.

We are working on our anti wraps right now also. Standard ladder bar anti wrap style. I think Rusty picked up the Heims today, or he will be shortly.

Front diff narrowed and SUA.
Narrower? Is width an issue for you?
SUA because.....?

Front LR. What do you have in the rear again?

So, a couple big projects, then the usual odd assortment of misc.

You are going to be burning the midnight oil....

You setting up your own gears?

MMmmmmmm. 4.88's sure sound nice. I gotta dump these 3.54 mall gears, but don't have the $$$ right now. I'm TRYING to stick to a budget, so stop being a bad influence. Rusty, Tom and Scoutillac are bad enough!!! :D

First of all SWEET ENGINE!! Secondly were you the one I was talking with about giving one of my old trailing arms (from my coil sprung blazer) to use as an anti-wrap device....Just wondering.

Narrower because the current front GM axle is 69" and the current rear IH axle is 64"-ish. I want the front to match the rear better. The housing is SUA, I will be doing an SOA. I wanted an SUA housing (out of a Jeep 3/4 ton pickup) so I could weld on my own perches at the correct angle and eliminate the shims I'm using w/ my GM axle.

Not much more money will spent, most of the parts have already been gathered.

Front LR, rear Lincoln locker. Yes, I will be setting up the gears.

Anti wrap bar will be the standard ladder bar & shackle arrangement.

Cliffy, Hooper was the one who was considering one of you old trailing arms. Sounds like he has decided to go a different route.

LOL, The scout is only a small part of my project pile.

1. I'm in the process of buying a house, closing this week, need to paint and move in.
2. Need to put a different 360 in my '79 cherokee. (I'd also like to SOA it and slap on some 33's but that will wait)
3. Convert the 1210 to 4wd w/ the Chevy axle that is coming out of the Scout & get it ready for tow duty.
4. Have a '73 1110 and a '74 Wagoneer that need parted out ASAP
5. Going to CalRocs in Reno (and Getting Married  :D ) in mid-May.

Is the 1110 4wd? I'd be interested in the inner axles if you part the axle.

Should see you in Reno, I hear OS is buying the  ;)

What is with all the bachelors getting married!!!

Getting married, and buying a house Ben. You are ambitious. Congrats by the way. Better get your wrenching done now, cuz for some of us it gets tougher after the wedding ring is on.

Ummm, is there going to be a little Ben any time soon? ;)

Bet you can get a pretty nice house over there..

Sorry. I got it now. Wider and SUA is the current condition of the axle, and narrower SOA is what you will do to it.

Rusty and I are going to try a spool rear LR front, if he ever gets around to ordering up the mini spool. We are going mini spool to try it and see if we like it. That way, if we do not, we can probably sell the mini spool and recoup our losses. But, if we like it we can bump up to full spool.

Anti wrap bar will be the standard ladder bar & shackle arrangement.

Where are you mounting the shackle?
Building a second cross member?
How is your exhaust routed?
What kind of mufflers are you running?

My current muffler is about 12" wide and takes up pretty much everything between the frame rails and driveline. If I rotate it, it hangs too far down under the truck. So, I have to buy some narrower mufflers to put under there.

You running the ladder bar in by the diff, or out by the springs? Heims on the three ends?
What size tube are you using?

Cliffy, I'll start a new thread on this subject.

I have glass packs under mine and am still wondering where to put a shackle for the anti wrap bar.

That's right. I'll make that number 0. since it is the highest priority.

I'm going to build it where ever it fits. Most likely it will be to the right of the driveshaft, close to the frame rail. It will have poly bushings at the axle and a heim at the shackle connection.

The exhaust runs down the drivers side frame rail w/ a single generic turbo muffler.

That solves most of the headaches!!!

Exhaust/muffler is my biggest headache left on this project. But, with 1 1/4" tube, and thinner muffler, I might be able to sneak it by. Fortunately, my current muffler is straight in and out, not offset, so I can find a straight in and out muffler to slap in there and I should be OK. I don't need a lot of room,, just enough to sneak the ladder tube past. 2 inches should be more than enough.

Course, I could just splice in some straight pipe to replace my mufflers altogether. That would leave me lots of room under there.....
