: Humvee wheels and 14 bolts

I've been reading alot about the humvee wheels and clearance problems. All of the talk is about the steering components getting in the way. If what I've read is correct, a 2" spacer will clear the stock chevy Dana 60 steering just fine (and help protect the hub).

My big question is will the humvee wheels clear the stock 14 bolt drums?

I have the axles from a 85 chevy 1ton and they will be going under my CJ7. I plan to have the front end narrowed on the drivers side just enough so the passenger spring pad is in the right spot (~4") and use the 2" spacers. The rear will be full width with no spacers. I figure this setup with 38*12.50 swampers won't be TOO wide. What do you think?

what do you need dana 60 and 14 bolt for with 38s? maybe 38.5s but not 38s.

but in any case yes i do believe that they fit just fine. on my 99 suburban 2500 w/ 16" wheels and the brake drum tucks in there nicely. i dunno if your drums are bigger though.

that is funny. i used to break my front d44 with 35's so i know 38's would have killed it.

You shouldn't have any clearence problems with the brakes on a 14-bolt using Hummer wheels, they fit fine on the 14-bolts i have.

beware that there are different size brakes on 14 bolts and the wheels may not fit in all applications

I was talking about the BIG 'UN (Full floating 10+" & 8lug).

Does that change the answer or will the hummer wheels still clear the massive drums?

I'm still looking for an answer. Will the Hummer wheels fit over the drums on a FF 10.5" 14-bolt?

Any info will help.

never personally tried it,but ive seen other posts stating that the hummer wheels will fit the FF 14 bolt.

its so easy to add discs t a 14 bolt, why do you wanna keep the drums anyway?

My Hummer Wheels clear the drums on both of the 10.50's 14-bolt i have with out a problem. And TJ7 does your brackets use the 3/4 ton front rotors, and Gm 1/2-3/4 ton calipers, whats the price?
