Ok,
I am looking to buy a rear locker for my Jeep. I have been doing lots of reading and am confused on which would be the best for my rig. I am currently in the process of upgrading my rear axel from a stock D35c to a D44. I would like to be able to drive my Jeep on the road from time to time and still have it perform well on the trail. What can you recommend? ARB, Detroit, Eaton, Ox....I think my brain hurts!

If ya don't do too much on road or don't mind the banging/going straight under power get a detroit. If you are rich and can't drive get an ARB.

Apparently I can't drive in the Con, Moab, Panamint, the hammers, etc. or any of the other places I've been since bjb was shittin' yellow:flipoff2: . I like the "roadability" of runing open. I'd go ARB if you run on the road much, and especially if you drive on icy roads. Detroit if it is all trail.

I run a Detroit in mine. Being from Michigan it gets driven in the snow quite often. Yeah it's a little squirrly but all Jeeps are a little squirrly when it's slippery. ARB= too much money and too many parts to rely on.

Detroit. The above mentioned "banging/going straight under power" comment
is mostly B.S. from my personal experience. I've driven Jeeps with F/R detroits
for over 15 years and for the most part you really don't notice that you have
the locker in there. IMO, they're the best *bang for the buck*.

detroit if you want the most reliable locker or don't have alot to spend and don't mind a little "squirreliness"

ARB if you have the money and want it to handle well on the street

If it sees more than 25% trail use i say go with a detroit
