selling to pay for my wedding and a new deck on the house.
portsmouth, NH
well i guess it wasn't meant to be. i have some financial decisions to make and i am selling the willys that i just got a few months ago i bought her 3 months ago for $9000 dollars and spent about a $1000 dollars getting her from boise idaho back to NH. since then i have also put on my warn 9.5 ti winch with a brand new cable. i had a new rear drive shaft made from high angle as a spare. a spare front drive-shaft made, i put five new swampers and rims on her, and a crane high clearance front diff cover.
I am SELLING HER FOR 10K, i bought her for $9000 , $1000 to get her to the northeast and have put another $2000 into it between the winch, new wheels/tires, spare driveshafts, and diff cover.
so in 3 months i'm into her for over $12,000 so 10K is a fair price.

since the previous owner knows more about her better than i here are copys of the emails between us before i bought her.
Chris, I live by keeping my word, and have been around the early 5 board for 6 plus years.
On several other forums for years, too.* You might find someone who disagrees with me, but you won't find anyone who will say I ever "hosed" them or did not keep my word.*
The Willys is a trail Jeep .* it is not show vehicle, but do clean up well and get lots of attention.* It is built to be 100% reliable and capable.* The only type trails that give me trouble is ledges because of the short wheelbase.* I would not hesitate to take the Willys over any trail in the US today.* Just gas it and go.* It has been over the Rubicon 6 times, to Moab twice, Dusy/Ersheim twice, and every trail in southern Idaho.* Previous owner had it in SDakota Black Hills for years.* It is turn key ready to go right now.* I just changed all diff, and tcase fluids last 2 weeks.* It has never failed to start right up for me.* Tires on Jeep now have*less than 150 miles on them, spare has never hit the ground.* I just put 4 new brake*rotors and pads on it, and use the good US made brands.**
The windshield has a 3" crack in the upper left corner that goes from corner to corner, will not go farther.* Tree branch smacked it.
The right rear*brake caliper bleeder screw was broken off flush when a rock got caught in the wheel.* I bleed it through the banjo bolt now.* New caliper would be about $60 but see no need to replace it now.* Turn signal switch is onery, and works when it wants to.
I did cut the rear wheelwell back 2" on the drivers side for more room, although I am short legged.* Seats are very comfy, but have a few*small stains in the cloth, but no rips.* Passenger seat is made to remove with two pins, and will set on ground level for a* spare chair at*lunch time.* Pretty nice, and is handy for working inside Jeep.**
*
Got any specific questions?**
I am selling this mostly because it is a done project.* I am looking at a CJ5, 1974 that is not quite as built, and more highway friendly.
Although the Willys will run down the road at 60mph plus, it is not real road trip friendly.* With the short wheelbase and PS, it turns real quick.* If it is slick out, the locker makes it quirky.* The Willys tows perfectly, at 70 mph you don't even know it is there-until you brake.* It drives down the road with no wander, one finger on the wheel.* I have to "hop" out of the Jeep with my short legs, and my back hurts when I do that.* Old age setting in I guess.***
The parts bill alone for this is over 9500, not counting the body, motor, fuel injection, seats, fuel tank, gauges, axle housings,*wipers, heater, soft doors, etc.
I have the Idaho title for the Willys, trailer is not required to have one here.* Idaho title has a stamp on it that is a*code they use to identify that the vin # was assigned to the body by them, when the frame was changed.* It is not a salvage or scrap title.* It is the original same vin # that came on the tub.*
Chris, sorry I missed your call.* Took wife to a movie, first time in about 15 years I have been to a theatre.* Wanted to add a coupl things and to make sure you got several emails of info and pictures.* The flattie rides soft, better than my old stock TJ.* You don't want to pitch it into a turn on the street though, it leans alot then.* It will do an 860 score on a 30 degree rti ramp, with a 80" wheelbase is pretty good flex.* The diffs don't leak a drop, tcase does not leak a drop (only dana 18 I have ever got to do that);* only leak (if you want to call it a leak) is from the rear main and oil pan seal.* It will drop one drop every two days or so.* I place a paper towel under it to watch it, after two weeks sitting-I can cover the wet spot on the towel with half of a dollar bill.* Never had to add oil to it though.* Not even enough to tear down and try to fix.* Transmission, radiator, P/S, fuel tank, no leaks at all.
I am leaving you the fuel pressure gauge that screw into the schraeder valve for test purposes.* Also, there is a transmission pressure gauge plumbed into the front fender, it can be easily removed but i just left it in there.* Would just have to plug the port in side of tranny.
so that is all. i'm pretty sure that is about it. pm me with any questions
