Does anyone know the approximate value of a Front D60? Specifically a kaiser model?

m715/725 axales really arent worth squat unless you allready have one or need it for restoration. they are small shaft/ujoint and coarse splinded. they will not interchange and i think they only gear ratio for them is the factory 5.89:1. they also have the 6 lug x 8.5" buds wheel pattern with shitty drum brakes.

i would not pay for or take one unless i allready had a buyer lined up.

yeah, I just had a full M715 offered to me for a mere 2 grand :smokin: and it seems in decent condition. I was trying to assess what kind of value its parts would have in case it turns out the body and frame are shot.

From what I've found its a full float D60 front, and a full float D70 rear.

So I couldn't get new ratios or convert to 35 spline?

A bit of misinformation there. While it is true that the inner shaft is smaller than most of the open knuckle stuff, the inner is 1.31, 30 spline. The u-joint is the same 1480 series joint as used in its open knuckle cousin. Being as it is a closed knuckle design the u-joints lack seals. The outer shaft is larger than what comes with an open knuckle 60. They only came with the 5.89 gears but any gears that fit in regular 60 will fit in this 60. They may not be as desireable as an open knuckle 60 it is mainly because of the difficulty in installing disc brakes and the odd wheel bolt pattern.

cool, i was told the shafts were d44 sized and the carriers was 17 spline likw the back. so that does make it useable, and a direct bolt in for most fsj, chevy trucks.
