I've got a pretty heavy 16' Gatormade car hauler I pull with my 99 dually and I make frequent trips unloaded. I hate how I can't see the trailer behind me (at all) and thought about removing the bumper pull attachment and converting it to a gooseneck. I fawked up and have already busted a rear fender with the damn thing just because I couldn't see it when backing(at night).

I bought plans for a 24' lowboy gooseneck a while back and though about just grafting the attachment onto the existing trailer.

Anyone done this before? I like my trailer, it pulls great, but I'm really looking for something thats....

1. Easier to see when towing empty
2. Won't fawk up any more fenders
3. Harder to Steal.

Every Tom Dick and Sam can hook up to a bumper pull and steal it, and a lot less % are going to have a gooseneck ball in the bed of their truck. I keep the trailer locked up in my open lot, but like that's preventing someone from stealing a trailer before.....

Any thoughts?
Anyone attempted this before?

...my thoughts, just a few "cheaper" things you might try before modding the trailer
#1 get some different mirrors, lower the tailgate, or get a spotter
#2 learn to drive :flipoff2:
#3 buy a lock :flipoff2: while a goose is harder to steal, if someone wants it bad enough they'll get it.

saw the exact opposite (behind a bus) of what your looking to do in Harlan two weeks ago:

there was a guy over on shop floor talk that did something kinda like what your talking about. His was actually removeable. it bolted to the front of the trailer frame and caught the trailer hitch. Search around on www.shopfloortalk.com. Probably about 6-9 mos. ago
