I was hoping to get a pros and cons of on and off road driving with a locker and a posi in the front axle. My truck sees both on and off road duty, in the winter it is my best bet for getting to and from where I need to be, but I would rather not put myself in a situation where ice and snow put me in a ditch or worse because the truck wants to go straight when the road says otherwise (better just to keep it open if it's gonna see road time?)

I, as well as numurous of my friends have run lockers in the front of our DD's, in the winter, and had zero issues with it.
But at the same time I(along with most others) suscribe to the thought that the only time you should be in 4wd, going down the road, is when you absolutely need it to maintain forward progress. and NOT just because it's a little icy, or 3" of snow on the road.
With that in mind, I've never had any issues with not being able to turn with a locker in the front of my rig, on ice and snow.
Also, keep in mind that if the hubs are locked in, and the truck is in 2hi, having a locker up front is 100% transparent, other than some slight clicking.
I can't comment too much on having a limited slip up front, but I would imagine it would be pretty unnoticable, and wouldn't cause much issue. After all, alot of the older 3/4 tons in the early 70's had them up front stock..
