I have a 74 blazer with a remanufactured quadrajet. Every since I put it on it will get flooded and I don't know why. I closed both screws and turned them until it ran the best, but am still having the problem. I keep having to manually open the secondary to start in when it gets flooded. any advice?

Yeah, pull the top of the carb off and check the float and the needle and seat for crap in it. Is there a chance that there is too much fuel pressure?

Make sure whomever did the reman-they used a new float-old ones can allow gas to permeate them and they become "waterlogged" and allow the needle to hang off the seat. When this occurs-you will see raw gas dumping down the venturi's of the carb. I like to use brass floats to avoid any of that aging factor.

I was thinking of the possibilty of too much pressure. I was going to turn down the screws about half a turn and see what happens. I'll also check the floats and needles. thanks for the advice.

the screws have no effect on flooding.
check the needle and seat
