It looks like I am gunna havet to get off my ass soon and build the 1200. As far as gearin is concerned, I want to be in the neighbor hood of 200:1 I will say that I KNOW THIS HAS BEEN DONE BEFORE (NOT CLAIMING IT IS MY ORIGIONAL IDEA) If I stuff a divorced 19 wide+ d20 behind the t98, (roughly 7x7x2x4=400) that would definentaly do the trick, the only bitch would be shifting da beast. The only thing that comes to mind is the t98 FC 170 top cover that works w/ a linkage type shift setup. I may be able to get one of those covers, Can a 98/18 cover be made to fit a 19 (I know that reverse is in a different position, but is it doable ???) Other than that there is the Gamma Goat cover on a SM 420 , but I have no idea where to start looking for one. Lastly , the easiest option since I have all the parts would be to use a divorced Side shift t90+20. (Roughly 7x3.5x2x4=196) I know I could just use the top cover off the 98 on the 18, but since scout 18's suck (crappy first gear) and eat up as much space as a 19 (givin me about 224:1) , it doesnt seem really worth it.
Do you think the 90 would grenade in this steup???? ( powered by a BG 241) Just a dumbass idea i have been kickin around, whattya think? I know I will never use all that reduction, but it never hurts to have it anyways does it?
Thanks
Dan

Yea, I know the sideshift case i'd be buildin it in was already grenaded by a L226  Weak as hell, but maybe livable, since it is so short.....
I need some reduction, and the klune. atlas, d300, assorted lower gear sets for 20+300, 203 doubler.....
All to expencive. If I just bore out a driveshaft end (where the slipjoint splines are ) to fit the pilot shaft of the trans I am using and weld it to the pilot shaft I am good to go, just use a single u joint to put it all together... Should work. Hell, I may even be able to live with a top shift w/ a hole in the bed and just get out to shift the second trans. I also have a spare d20/18 linkage shifter from a FC, so that should take care of that. Like I said before , I prob will never need the gearing, but since I gotta put in a T-case anyways (2wd convert to 4x4) I might as well give it hell, I doubt I would ever need the strenght of the 202 anyways.
thanks

well R is like 8 to 1 for the T-98 so you chould put both tranys in R and that whould move you faward so 8x8x2x4=512

I got a lil IH 3 on the tree trany with like 3.8 1st and 4.5 R and it is short so I thought of sticking that between my T-98 and 202
and do the same keep both in R

so 8x3.8x2x4=243.2 I can live with that oh and the 3 speed shift on the side
