: OTT Kicker 2 pics (kick to toy mated)
Well, I finally got around to getting my pics developed to show all of you people this adaptor we keep hearing about so much. Does somebody want to post some pictures for me?? Still need to get my ass a red star! This is the sidekick t-case mated to the toy case (kicker 2)
This adaptor is a grand total of 1.5" thick and from the begining of the tranny to the rear toy flange measures 44". This adaptor is very beefy and very well built. OTT is a great company to deal with and everything was done when they said it would be done. The kick case has lots of custom work done to it to leave only the reduction gears behind and a new shifter out the side of the case. I had OTT install 4.7's in the toy case while they were at it and now I can't wait to get crawling! Thanks Rick!

StomperZUK 04-17-2002, 12:20 AM Very kewel:smokin:
So how many different zuk, gearing options are out there now:confused:
stock
4.16
4.89
5.8
6.1
kluneV to any of the above
sos ringer- 1.6 to toy tranny/t-case/s
ott divorced toy
ott kicker1- 1.6tranny/low range box to stock zuk t-case/or divorced toy
ott kicker2- 1.6tranny/low range to toy case/s
Did i miss any?? Someone should make a list comparing all the different ratios available now....
Talk about a tough decision to make now for some folks:D
When do we get to see pics of it installed??
How will the rear output with the ott setup compare to scwafish's
ringer/dual toys??
Sarcastro 04-17-2002, 01:16 AM So thats what it does? the OTT kicker , its an adapter/gearbox? whats it do extacly?
poppycock 04-17-2002, 01:22 AM now that is nice! :smokin:
mini4by 04-17-2002, 04:23 AM holy :cow: thats the :nuke:
Rudezuk 04-17-2002, 08:44 AM Rick is making me the new adapter right now to go from a kick trannie/case to the sumo case......Im glad to see that this stuff is built so well!!!
Ill take some picks when i get mine.
Good job FW and OTT!
So 44" eh? That's not too bad considering with a toy tranny and single case is 38"...
I guess I'm going to have to drive my arse out to Bby to check it out in full colour real life!
:D Oh the burden...

Poorboy 04-17-2002, 02:54 PM Hey Rudezuk, would the kick/sumo adapter be the same as a tracker/sumo adapter???? My project "Track this" is coming along and was needing some more gearing selection. Thanks.
Poorboy
Rudezuk 04-17-2002, 03:02 PM yep that would be the same, Track and kick are the same thing..
Ill get mine in about 6 weeks....Ill post pics when i get it........They are just building it and they are pretty buisy!
3.65*1.8*6.187*5.38 = 219:1

You get to see pics of it installed next week..... saturday the body comes off, sunday the stuff all goes in!
The rear output is probably pretty much the same as scawfish but you'll have to ask him the measurement from the start of the bellhousing to the rear output.

It's the kicker 2.... the regular kicker has a driveshaft output to a divorced sammy or toy case (meaning more length). It's just like any other dual cases only it's sidekick to toy! Lot's of gearing options with these two cases as well.

I was talking with Rick about this adaptor when he was over and it was still under development. I myself think it's too much for the zuk case especially with the 6:1's. I just see the whole box exploding. But I guess only time will tell, and it's pretty hard to just give up a case like that after just getting it. I am really interested in seeing the pics of the adaptor, kind of curious how they are going about it.
Shogunator, yes you are gonna have to take that burden drive over to my place sometime. That harness is gonna need some cutting done on it and some install.... (hint hint).
Rudezuk 04-17-2002, 06:03 PM I dont get on the gas hard enough when im in low to make a difference...When i put it in first i crawl! Im at 120:1 now, and dont use the gas much, but the little extra will help out climbing over some big shit!
I have put the sumo case through some shit already and it is holding up quite well!
DougO 04-17-2002, 07:56 PM What did the Kicker 2 cost? More then the original kicker?

Good to hear that it's holding up to the abuse. I guess personally I have blown transfercases up and see no real strength in them. My brother just blew his up the other day. He blew a bearing up and all the gears have huge chunks out of them. It is beyond recognition and he was only using stock gears in it. I should get a picture up... it's a sight to see..
As long as you have a light foot in double-low I guess you'll do fine... I'm looking forward to seeing it so be sure to get some pics up.... cheers!
Exchange rates 101 :D
for canuck to USD
Canuck * exchange = USD
so,
900 * .635 (for today anyways) = $571.5 USD
Sounds pretty good to me compared to a lot of high priced options out there...
:flipoff2:
BTW that does not include shipping.

yager 10-25-2002, 07:18 AM So how this thing holding up? I still dont see it on their web site?
44" is PERFECT ! I measured my junk last night and my stock rear t-case flange is right at 44" (i had pulled my tcase back~1" to make equal length front/rear shafts.... So this buys me everything, and with a HP chunk....... angles should be about the same-ish....
Q) I dont have a toy t-case how far forward does the front output extend from the rear of the output flange, (ie f/r placement? )
added..
Q) Can you add "any" toy tcase? Or are their similer issues as doing a double stack? Which years etc?
and other issues with install?
-yag
planning out next years mods, i have some of the parts....
mini4by 11-03-2002, 05:59 AM Any updates on the Kicker II install?
I am serioulsy considering this route, KickerII/toyota case and kick axle in my Zuk.
What about overall length of teh tcase(s) compared to stock divorcd and driveshafts? Have we crossed these bridges?
mines real close to being driveable...I could overall measurements but can't compare to where or how it would sit in a real sami. don't know if this will be any help.
yager 11-03-2002, 05:23 PM If you could give a break down measurement from the bell housing that would be great....
The first post said over all was 44" from bell to rear flange....
I really only need to know how far forward the front output is FROM the rear output of the toy case... (not really related to the swap but needed for possible fitment planning....)
Maybe a rough guess to shifter Center Line measurements from the bell if thats possible....
Thanks !!!

mini4by 11-04-2002, 05:15 AM Pook, any more photos of the install? My Zuk is staying at 80" so I'd be curious as to how it fits, how long is your wheelbase?
Should I forget the whole thing and just get some 5.8's.
GBRAVO 07-01-2003, 01:34 PM I am planning to do a similar thing to build a "Thorax" case, using almost all the Sidekick body and weld some aluminun plates to seal.
I am thinking to seal the back with an aluminun plate that hold the rear bearing and machine a yoke that match with output splines.
Does any yoke match with that shaft? what diameter it has and how many splines? all models that same?
Did someone do it?
weedwacker 07-02-2003, 07:47 PM Will it work with an auto kicK trans mated to a toy transfer case, if so where do I send my next house payment?:D
AIRZUKI 07-02-2003, 09:39 PM yes the Kicker 2 will work with an auto transmission. The front of the Sidekick tranfercase remains stock.
call Rick for more information
Thanks
Mines mated to a auto tranny unfortunatley my business hasn't allowed me the time to get the last bit of work done to get it out on the trail for some testing... One thing is the front d line comes real close to the tranny pan. Not sure how this would effect a stock sami cuz mine is stretched considerbly about a 100" wheel base now. and run a 2 piece front shaft with a steady bearing
weedwacker 07-03-2003, 03:36 PM How about making it bolt directly to a toy transfercase. :D
AIRZUKI 07-04-2003, 12:57 PM We have actually started development on that very adapter to mount a Toy t-case directly to the sidekick transmission but we shelved it to work on other things . It can be done, we are doing it.... if you're interested give Rick a call
Thanks, Ben
MudKick 07-04-2003, 01:07 PM Oh baby, give it to me!!!
OK take it off the shelve and get cracking, then. I bet ya ther'd be plenty of guys who cannot affoard a kicker 2 and would love to swap their 1.7something kick pieces of poo for at least a toy tcase.
95geo 07-04-2003, 02:36 PM mudkick
i imagine the toy adapter would be 400-600 and your still left with one case with a 2.28 low then 500 for gears, the kicker 2 ran me 650 plus 100 shipping and 75 for the toy case and im at 4.1, dual cases and a no more slip yokes for the same price as a lowrange for the kick case, and i have more options.
MudKick 07-04-2003, 03:44 PM 95geo, I m not sure if it would be this much. I guess we should ask OTT, but I assume (I know, I know,) that a adopter alone should be significantly less then making an adopter and splicing the sidekick t case in half and shortenning the shaft and so on . But then I don't really know, I just hope...
But don't get me wrong, if I had the dough I'd take the dual casa any day!
samiguy 07-05-2003, 05:09 AM OTT, what about your track/kick case to sami case adapter? How does that work? I need the T-case reduction and want to add a second case
