Time for some new tires on my CTD 3500 dually. I want a AT that's decent in the snow and on the sand. I wanted some toyo m-55's, but not at $1200.00 a set  . Any comment on BFG AT's, I can get them for under $800.00 a set.

The BFG AT is a tried and true tire. I have a set on mine, and so do millions of others. They do good on the road, OK in dirt and good in the snow. Only thing they don't do well is wet roads once they get worn a lot. The rubber is pretty hard, which doesn't help the wet traction, but it does help them wear like iron. I know a guy who has over 80K on a set. The tread is boned and dry rotted though, because they are also 10 years old. For the price, they really can't be beat.

I work at a tire shop and I get to see a lot of tire scenerios. One of the best tires for your dollar are the Firestone Transforce AT. Great traction, quiet, and they wear very well.

I debated a lot over choice of tire to get rid of the donuts that came on the truck ('05 F-250 PSD). Ended up with the BFG AT's and love them. They are wearing well, look good on the truck and have performed well on and off road. I frequent the family cabin a lot thru out the year, which is six miles of dirt road, snow in the winter. I was hesitant to settle for the BFG's but am glad that I got them. I feel they are a good in-between for the mostly on road/some off-road use that the truck sees.
