Going cutting tommorow. Taking Clint's rig out for a shakedown run and some saw work. Should be fun. Down trees beware.

I just picked up a Stihl 440L saw this week.

What kind of saws do you use at work?

How'd the day go Tom? The Mog crew and our camp commitee are curious for next week. Are large saws in order, or are just 20 inch clean up saws appropriate?

Got the two pain in the ass one's out of the way. The one needs to get pulled more but it 's at least out of the water hole. You will be fine with a 20"
Nolen we run a mix of saw's.
Stihl 020t for climbing saw, husky 395 for bucking big stuff and stump cuts and mostly husky 372's. It's my favorite power head. O44's are nice saw the 046 fell off a little in my opinion, the 066 have always been good. The 372's though take less cleaning with the way the air injection works and holds 14,000 nicely. You will be real happy with that saw.

The wall is really big on this hole. It got shoveled down alot but you had to bounce the front up to get to were you needed to winch from.

The first tree we went after was a 30" rotten dead lodgepole> People had started to go around it cut that clear and threw the limb wood and chunks in the new started bypass. The next one is the last straight away waterhole that has a bypass before the slabs leading to the overlook. One decent size lodgepole well into the center of the water hole completly blocking the trail. Standing on clint's bumper I was able to hook onto the tree with his winch hop onto the tree run back to were i could stand without taking water over my boots and cut it. He dragged it back thru the whole water hole to the intersection to the bypass. It need to be yanked and cut more. I screwed up my bar on that tree and wasn't able to cut anymore, but the hard parts done. Couple cuts and it easily off the trail.

Thanks for taking your own time to clean up the trail for the rest of before Rubithon. Now, even the FJcruisers will make it through. Looks like you had a good time bucking logs, thanks again!

Nice looking jeep. It wasn't just me it was the whole crew. I was the lucky one running the saw while everyone else dragged brush and rolled rounds. Wasn't to bad just under three tanks thru the 372. Springs looked great. Good to be there. Plenty of firewood.
