i plan on buying and selling here alot already have a few deals and i have been lucky so far , its bad when a few crooks mess up the system here you moderators are doing a good thing and i personally want to thank you i know its hard work we all thank you well i was wondering whats the possibility of having a list of possible bad sellers to click on and view instead of having to read each post then a person can decide to risk it or run when someone is trying to sell you something . eventually i think it would improve the chances of doing away with these crap-olas that pollute your site well just wandering either way keep up the good work i have found this site very very helpfull when i am stumped on a project that in itself is worthy of praise ok ok long winded here see ya

I would not buy anything from someone who doesn't have a red or yellow star. I also check to see if the seller is involved in other parts of the board. Again I think it is risky buying from someone who is here just to sell.

You will find that most of the deals that go bad are from guys (one side or the other) who hasn't put their money and time into supporting the site.

Just because they have a star doesn't mean jack shit. Yeah, I would agree most of the deals that go bad are from nonpaying members but that star will not keep people from screwing others. It is a risk buying parts off of any board or ebay. About the only way to avoid being screwed is to deal face to face with cash in hand.

How about, Fuck You

Wow, tell us how you really feel.

But seriously, what the fawk does that red/yellow star have to do with whether you get ripped off or not? Now $20 makes you a stand-up guy?

"You pay your money, and you takes your chances."

Edit; Fiftyfifty, I don't mean to be a dick but punctuation is the key to good sentence structure.

It feels weird to quote myself, but for some reason the main thrust to my point has been missed. To me the $20.00 is just part of the commitment to the boards. You can get screwed over by anyone. I just feel that if someone has put his TIME and money into the boards than chances are better that he will be here if things go south.

"I think you are crazy if you buy a product from someone who has 20 posts on the site and 19 of them are in the classifieds trying to sell his wares." How can anyone argue with this statement.

Actually having a red star does make a difference because yourname and address will be known and the chances of screwing a member over is null at best

If you are going to make a transaction with some one they are going to have to send the funds to some location so the address is going to be known, with or without the star.

No matter if it's face to face, here on the board, or on Ebay it comes down to "buyer beware" . I think the red star, post count, check in the "bad trader" section is about all you can do. In order to get a good deal usually there is some risk involved. I accept that. We all need to use the resources that are available such as this section to beat the shit out of those who abuse our site! "A few bad apples" and all that. If you want to be guaranteed a "safe" deal then buy new from one of the many reputable vendors here. Otherwise, do all you can to protect yourself by checking this section , your credit card or Paypal offers some protection, if it doesn't feel right or appears too good to be true then ask more question or blow the deal off. I am in the middle of a deal where I am getting lightly screwed at the moment and what really pisses me off is that it's made me gun shy of dealing with anyone here. With a limited budget and way too many projects I know i'll continue to buy here but will be more careful next time.
