We are getting a group up to go to the Barnwell Mountain ORV Park in Gilmer, TX this weekend if the rain stays away. If your in the area come AWN.... :D

so how is gilmer? i have heard there aren't any rocks there just wondering

Gilmer is cool for a place to go play, short trails but still plenty fun. i have only been once and we had a blast. i know of some of the guys fron cow town jeeps heading out to another place west of dfw that is supposed to be pretty bad ass. as in real tough on the equipment. gilmer is pretty tame in comparison, but still fun. mike

Where is Gilmer located by in TX. Ive never heard of it. Cant make it this weekend but maybe some other time. Fill me in on some more info about this place. Is it extreme? :D

Barnwell mountain in Gilmer is kinda in the Tyler, Longveiw, Kilgore area.

I would say that it would be very challenging in many places for a stock TJ, still a few that would catch an open open 33" tired TJ (about 4 spots) if you have a TJ that is locked on 35"s or bigger it is a cakewalk.

If I were you I would pray for rain. I can see that place becoming much more difficult in the rain but I would go to Clayton if the distances were not significantly different

I have only been there once, but I was able to go on all 3 diamond trails (and a couple of 4's like airstrip) with an open Cherokee one 31 at's. There are a couple of rock gardens which would be fun to play around on for an extreme rig, and all the trails are fun, but not extremely difficult. Most are pretty tight too. :jeep:

We are heading there to pop the cherry of a newbie crawler and to test out my latest line of mods. Nothing to bad but its fun just to get out and do some riding..
