ok so i built me a trailer for my toy and so far its been towin around town pretty good. heres my question...i drove over the scale today and im wonderin if i am ok to go on a 300 mile trip with the tires i got on my trailer...im sitting 1710 lb under the max on my steer tires....490 under on my drives (before i put 30 gallons of gas in so figure 250)....and 196 lbs under the max on the trailer. i know im kinda pushin it but if i got the max recommended psi in all the tires you think i'll have an issue of a blow out if i keep it around 60 mph?? trailer brakes and everything are good and im runnin a load equalizer hitch on my 1/2 ton suburban.....still sits 1" lower on the rear....figure i could tighten it up another notch to make it equal but i dont wanna put any more poundage on the trailer....i'm just worried about loosin a tire is all....:barf:

When you say 196 lbs under on your trailer tires... Are you meaning 196xeach? Or 800 lbs under total? Or 196 total? To where you only have 50 lbs to spare on each of the 4 tires?

About the tires on your sub, what are they? Are they LT or P ?

196 lbs. under total for all 4 trailer tires...so yeah about 50 lb each...truck tires are APT....whatever that is....

Quite frankly I would NEVER tow with that little of a margin on my trailer tires. If they're C, I'd buy D. Same thing if they're D already. Whatever they are, go for more weight raiting.

I can almost guarantee you a blowout with what you've got on a hot day.

Blowouts suck. I have the tshirt. It sucks, but it fits ;-)

oh come on... instantly changing lanes before you realize WTF just happened is fun  :flipoff2:

Me, I wouldn't pull that trailer untill I got better tires. :)
