Went to Silver Lake, MI on June 11th and 12th, and ended up doing this:

I don't know how it happened, and I don't know exactly what's wrong. I do know this though: I bent one of the little flapper thingies posts, popped out a spring, the spiders are trashed, the big pin that holds two of the spiders sheared and oblonged the carrier's hole, and cracked the carrier from the hole to the end. This axle is messed up beyond repair IMO (I could put a spool/C-Clip eliminator kit in it, but that's polishing a turd, ya know?), so I plan on pulling a 14b SF from a 3/4 ton 2wd Chevy.

Sorry that the pictures are a little un-clear.. But I think most of you will know how the diff should look. :cool2:

On a lighter note, even though the axle did that about 2 hours of duning before I left, I still made the drive home! :) I can't believe how mangled that is... and how gross diff fluid smells! :eek:

my carrier busted driving down the highway at 65. drove 130 miles home with it howling... got a 14FF

thats called a gov-loc.just replace it with open carrier and your good to go.
