A friend has a 94 Mazda B4000 that he just put a heavy front bumper on. Now he can't get it aligned because the springs are not heavy enough. Would it be possible to put 1/2 ton springs from an early 90's Ford on it? Does anyone know if they are the same diameter? The weight rating should be about right for the added weight of the bumper. Any help or ideas on what to do, let me know.

Thanks in advance.

A custom spring shop should be able to manufacture your friend some springs to deal with that bumper. They may even be able to make some progressive springs.

How heavy is this bumper?

You can put some coilspacers or washer shims under the bottom perches to raise it back up. Those coils are pretty stiff already it shouldn't stress the coils out at all (unless this bumper is like 1000lbs or something).

As for half-ton springs, they are a bit bigger diameter and won't fit the mount as well, but still can work with a bit of modification.
