Bite me pinion boy

:flipoff2:

Or he could be putting the 40 springs on a pig to get a better departure angle. :rasta:

or maybe you both wrong:flipoff2: People use the 40 fronts in the rear of a 40 because of the pin location. I think it moves your axle 3'' back or something.........

now to the origional question.

Not really, the pins are in the same place. The springs are the same length. Just slightly different spring rates because of the weight of the motor in the front.

All you need to do is take your stock rear springs and flip them 180* and you will have a 3.5" longer wheelbase. But make sure that you redrill the military wrap springso that it is in the spring hanger instead of the shackle.

Or you could use Some FJ55 rear springs which are 3.5" longer than your 40 springs and give you a 3.5" longer wheelbase...

Now, who has been in the  a bit too much lately???

I swapped the front to the back. I have a springover with a shackel reversal that has the rear perch welded under the frame. This made the ass end of the cruiser lower than the front. Sooo I reversed the springs since the front spring pack had a couple of more leafs than the rear. While I was at it I took the springs apart and relocated the pin hole a inch futher from it's oringinal position by redrilling the spring. I made a fixture to locate the factory pin position with the pin in the springs and drilled the new hole thru the 1" offset hole in the fixture, that way it lines up nice and centered on the width of the spring and all four springs have the exact 1". Now the cruiser sets level and I have a streched wheel base. So far it seems to handle fine.

You are right on this one. However, going to a 55 front spring on your 40 rear will only give you about 1.75" additional wheelbase. Not all that much IMHO..

Get a set of 55 rear springs. They are easy to fit...
