Anyone here know any tricks to flush the whole system, lines, radiator, TC and all the trans parts? Im installing a rebuilt trans and I was gonna rig up some compressed air to the end of one of cooling lines. That should clear the lines and radiator of the old burnt up junk and fluid, hopefully. I saw some flushing aerosol can in the parts store that cleans the lines with a solvent and air pressure, anyone ever use this stuff? How can I clear the trans and converter of the old fluid on the rebuit trans once it is in the vehicle and due for a service? thanks.

go to a shop and pay 79.99 like everybody else.other wise.cosy up to some of the guys at Jiffy lube or some other quick lube place, and have them pull a line of off the rad. and put the trans fluid gun in the tube and start the truck.wait for clean fluid to come out.

pull the return line to the pan and route it to a bucket. (i slip a 1 1/2 inch clear tube over the line and stick the other end in the bucket)

over fill the pan with new fluid. crank the truck. the fluid will pour out into the bucket. keep an eye on how much has poured out. turn it off before the pan gets too low.

repeat several times. it goes alot faster with 2 people and a good funnel with a hose that fits snuggly over the tranny fill tube.

Take your torque converter and flip it over on a bucket. Should drain out most of the old fluid.
Buy the spray can of tranny line cleaner and use it. The hit the lines with an air hose.

That's how I clean mine out.

I highly recommend a new torque converter. You just spent a ton of time and money rebuilding your tranny. Why take the risk of frying it again. Fork out the cash and buy a new torque converter.

Drill a hole in the TC on the outside edge and weld a nut where the hole is then put a bolt in the nut/hole; you now have a TC drain that dosen't hurt anything.
When your doing a flush or drain just turn the TC so the new drain plug is facing down.
You can also do this to your pan so it has a drain which many don't and you have to drop the pan full of atf "what a mess"
