the one deal with the goodyear MTR's for a good price. I will be putting the tires on a 70 blazer. Mostly street driven. I like the new BFG KO's and think if they wear like my last pair that I want them. But how do the goodyears compare on the street? I hear 25k for tread wear? Hell I can run swamps if I want that :D

I don't have a clue on miles, but on all the state DNR they run them, they get kinda loud after a while but they last quite a while from what I have seen....

im on a set of 33's with about 23-25K on em. new tread depth is 21/32's...mine are at 12/32's pretty much all the way around(some wear quicker because of the detroit out back)...i have had 2 plugs in the sidewall for over 6 months and multiple wheelin trips...so they are holding together pretty good....some chunking but not bad considering what they ahve been through...i plan to buy another set of em as soon as these a little lower on the tread...oh yeah its my Dail driver since ya asked.

Well my Q was kinda choppy.
Yes this truck will be a poser street truck towing the toyota rig from hell. I just want the tires to be able to get a grip getting to the trail. This means highway runs from northern utah to say moab... My old sx's died on the freeway. The bfg muds I had lasted 3 years of contiual driving. I have heard that the MTR's do good on the highway but wear out fast. I am not real concerned with noise.....It's an old 70 blazer...Not exactly a caddy ya know...

My friend has about 5k miles on her MTRs on her DD Cherokee and they still look brand new. I would expect at least ~40k. Probably not as good as the old BFGs, but probably the same/better than the new BFGs with the softer compound.

Mine have 20,000 plus on 2 different DD's, both with rear lockers. I just compared them to my brand new spare, and are almost exactly half tread. Oh, and they have been wheeled fairly hard. Took em up the Hammerz last weekend, and Gorman's rocks the week before. Dr. Evil had his fun with them, too.

For me this still begs the question: are the 37's the "sticky competition" compound? 'Cause if so I don't know if I'd see 25k out of them...? I recall one person say they are and no one else seems to know. Anyone, anyone? Bueller?

Also, can someone measure from the center of their hub to the ground on a loaded 37? Please state psi at the time and vehicle. Thanx!

I have 33" MT/R's with 37K miles on them. This is my daily driver with a selectable locker. I'm currently headed for replacing them around 45K miles. I siped them for the first time during this winter for ice racing. I've done quite a few tough trails, but not the extreme stuff that many of you do.

so are the 37's a different compound?
I don't think that 45k on a tire is bad at all.... I love the look of the tire. They have just been a little $$pendy.

I heard the ARCA 37s had a different compound than the production 35s, and I was told the production 37s would be the same as the production 35s.

Since its all hearsay, YMMV (sorry for the pun)

I think I remember that Daniel from USA 6x6 said that the production 37's are supposed to be the same as the RRCA guys with the sticky compound. That was when he was trying to get a group buy going. Maybe he'll chime in, or I'll eventually pm him.

Yah, group buys are not allowed here by the mods, for some unknown reason. That's why you gotta take it to emails or pm's
