Does anyone know how to get the torsion bars out of the truck? I got the lower control arm off and i'm pounding on it with a 15lb hammer and the torsion bar isn't coming out. I heard that they just slide in and out of the control arms and the adjusting arm on the other end. There is no tension on the bar. It is a 93 Sonoma 4wd.

Be careful before you kill yourself...To completely take tension off the bar you have to remove the pad tha the adjuster bolt went through and let the key dangle. If the key is sitting on the pad it still has tension.
I haven't messed with s10s but I know that's how it is on the fullsize.
Just get a 7 ton gear puller and push the key up enough to slide the adjuster bolt pad out of the x member and then you should be able to slide the bar out by hand.

like I said, it is a 93 and i'm in Illinois. RUST can magically fuse metals together around here. The adjuster pad and bolt are already out. I pounded and pounde with no luck. I ended up just cutting the torsion bars with a cutoff too. I cut em right by the crossmember , so once I cut em, the crossmember just slid out of the frame.
