ok 76' k5 with a k10 cab and fabbed bed.... 39.5 tsl's. MAJOR WOBBLE. My frame is bobbed to the shackle hangers...very short. Where do i start to trouble shoot the tooth rattling wobble. Tried many tire pressures. Told i can't balance the swampers. Steering dampers/stabilizers...worthless. Same wobble either way. Going to high steer soon, will the wobble follow? Recent bearing work...still wobble. I've removed all un-needed metal so i think the truck is light considering its a k5- sort-of. HELP!

1. Swampers can be balanced, you just have to find someone with the capability to do so. Not every tire shop can.
2. Check your balljoints, steering joints and so forth.
3. Also, depending on how old and abused your tires are, you could have some flat spots that won't go away.

tires are newer, most of the joints are also newer but upkeep could be needed more often? with these tires.

how is ur caster? i had a bad wobble with neg caster made it more pos and it made it so a sabilizer would take it out also running bald 39.5 tsl with flat spots.

I'm goin' with the caster too. Stupid question but did you put the springs on right? There should be a tapered shim and the thicker side goes to the front.

Are the U bolts nice and tight still? Mine was going the same thing then i tightened the u bolts.. and that made it alot less noticable.. and thats with 39.5 boggers and no stabalizer.

Try balancing your tires with Dyna-beads. Worked great on my 41's. Much better than Equal.

Your death wobble will get worse with the high steer, and how lift do you have on your k5.I had the death wobble with my first of 39.5 tsl's.Only thing that helped out was three stabalizer's.Never heard of dyna-bead's but chvyboat is correct Equal is a joke.

Ok, i'm taking notes... it's a dana 44 (not for much longer!) gonna try to adjust the caster... checked the u bolts, they're tight. Springs are on right, i think the front end has a 6" skyjacker spring... don't know 4 sure cause i didn't do the front. Now the dynabeads never heard of them... are they like the beads they put in farm tires to equalize the flat spots? I'd like more info.

I've had this problem with 2 different dodge front 60s, new style, and still have not found a solution, my friend has an 05 dodge that is doing the same thing with 30k miles on it, I'm waiting for somebody to have a fix that works cause I'm tired of putting a bunch of new parts on and it still have the problem. On my own trucks I've replaced all parts and aligned but the only thing that seems to cover up the problem is stabilizers, I know its not the problem but it seems to cover it up whatever it is.

I had probs with death wobble with both front axles I have. My Dana 44 I fixed the problem by replacing the ball joints. On my 60 that I'm running now, I stacked washers on the kingpin springs and added a dual stabilizer. No more death wobble. There are a ton of different things that can cause the wobble though. These are just the fixes that worked for me. Good luck.:smokin:
