ok i have the stock tbi unit on the jeep, the stock computer and all the electronics, i have a centech harness, a howel fuel pump, and rubber fuel line.
the prob is it isnt getting enuff fuel at higher rpms. she is running fine at idle, there is no vacume leaks and the timing is right. i sprayed some chemtool into the tb as it started to die and she took off like a bat out of hell. so i know its not getting enuff fuel. do you think the injectors are bad? is the computer not working properly, is the fuel pump not pumping enuff, is the fuel filter prohibiting fuel flow, or is the rubber hose sucking shut at higher rpms? could be anything anyone have an idea?

did you bypass the intank pump?

What engine are you running in the Jeep? Is it the engine that the TBI came on? Is the Jeep approximatly the same weight as the rig it came out of, or have you had a new chip burned with the Jeep specs?
EDIT: Also, check the fuel pressure in several different places to see if the fuel pressure drops anywhere along the line.

did you ever run teh pump dry even for a second or 2? It may just be smoked. I ran my 5.0 pump out of gas once and the damn thing actd fine for another 1000 miles then all of a sudden all I could do was idle. Changed it right then and there and BAM...got it all back.
yes the stock pump is bypassed. the motor is the stock 350 with a stock th350 behind it powered by a stock computer. and no i never ran the pump dry.
well i hooked the fuel pressure guage up and it was loosing pressure as i reved the rpms. so i disconnected the rubber fuel line and filter behind the pump, stuck the pump in a bucket filled with fuel and walla problem solved. so it must be the rubber fuel line collapsing behind the pump as i dont think its the filter, the filter is a mpfi filter and should work fine. guess i will be replacing the rubber hose between the pump and tank.

hmm, i hope you weren't smoking at the time, hehehe...
glad you got it runnin, though!

reason I asked about stock pump is because when you bypass it with a pusher inline pump the pusher pumps usually don't suck fuel very good...
if you got a pump that sucks good then it won't push realy good..
Eighter case will show up under alot of flow demands... sounds like when you put pump in bucket problem solves because the fuel is right there and doesn't need to suck..
do you have a regular tank or fuel cell with the line coming out hte bottom?
it was still sucking from the bucket, i had it hanging down and it had to pull the fuel up. i am running the stock 91 tank with the fuel lines on the top. i am going to run the hard lines tomorrow and see if it does the trick if not ill be slapping a fuel cell in with the lines on the bottom.
What is the location of your fuel filter????? If you are using a fuel injection filter on the suction side of your pump, thats your problem. The filter is such a fine "mesh" it is difficult to "suck" fuel through it. They are designed to have high pressure push the gas through.
In my rig I have (in order) Tank, canister type paper filter, fuel injection pump, fuel injection filter, throttle body.
The canister is a housing that bolts to the frame, has a screw on metal bowl, and replaceable paper element inside. It takes out the big chunks before going thought the pump. Also traps some water. NAPA and others should show these in their fuel filter cataloge.

If the stock Heep pump is for a TBI and in-tank, ditch your external one and hook it up.
Squash
i said screw it and ordered a fuel cell and braided line and special fuel injection filter. ill mount the tank between the wheelwells in the tub the fuel filter under the tub and the fuel pump after that. gotta have the fuel filter there to protect the pump. the fuel cell being much higher and having the pickup in the bottom of the tank should help and the braided line will not collapse. my projection on my truck runs a filter before the pump and after the pump and is the same basic injection as stock chevy tbi.

HP fuel line wont collapse. If you had a line collapse, then I would attribute it to a restriction from the tank to the pump.
