Basicly I can get a 4.6 liter engine extremly cheap and was thinking of it for my 73 EB. Wondering if it will bolt to my 435. I think the t birds got these motors first, maybe 91? They were plauged with problems IIRC, and it would be unlikely to find a decent 15yo motor, and an overhaul would be $. Maybe use an auto tranny from an early 4.6 4wd and mate it to an earlier tcase? mtnbronco 06-18-2006, 03:13 PM I'm working on the same swap idea. Issues I have found so far. The 4.6/5.4 is wide and high. Will have to remove inner fender skirts. Most of the items on the firewall need to be modified. ie steering, brake, and exhaust outlet will need to be modified. If I was to do this right I would build a tube chassis in the front and position the engine forward. | |
