On sunday, after some light offroading I was heading down the road and heard a strange sound, and the jeep starting pulling to the left. I got out and took a look, wheel was very off camber, and looked like it was about to fall off.

It was also pouring gear oil out the axle, so I'm wondering if I'm lucky enough to just need a wheel bearing, or is the axle toast?

It is the front left wheel. The jeep has a 4" suspention lift, 33" tires and a locked rear.

Thanks

Have you pulled it apart yet?

The differential shouldn't have been leaking, if it was, either the shaft pulled out of the seal at the diff, or the seal is junk.

There's about 3 different things that hold the wheels on simultaneously. First, the calipers are bolted to the outers and hold the discs on which hold the shaft in, in theory. Second, the wheel bearings hold the studs which hold the tire on. They are bolted on from behind the knuckle. If one of them fails and begins to come apart, you'd have only the caliper holding the wheel on, a pretty scary scenario. Finally, the ball joints hold the outers on, if one of them fails, the whole out assembly would walk off. The only way to know for sure what's goin on is going to be to break down the axle and see what's going on.
