Got the Dana 70 and the 4inch lift springs bolted in today. My d-shaft is too long so im gonna have to cut it down but i may switch spring mounts for 3 inches more lift so till then im just gonna wait to change it. Also i still have to cut the shock mounts off and move them above the axle centerline, and then get the brakes all bolted in but the hard work is done. Man this thing weighs a ton, im gonna be sore tomorow:toothless

For those who dont know its a Dana 70 35 spline with 4.56 gears disk brakes and Detroit locker:thumbup

Cutting up the custom front spring hangers i had. They started out like this Just so you have an idea of what i did.

http://www.supermotors.org/getfile/308590/fullsize/DSC00346.JPG

I am using 2 pieces of 2x2x.25 tubing welded together as a crossmember so to mount the spring mounts with the proper drop i had to cut them down.

Used thes left over pieces to cap the ends and to tie into the ooutsides of the frame. They are 40" apart and fit tight up onto the frame.

Rear shackle mount mocked up. I ended up moving it back some because with weight on it it had way too much angle it was almost touching the frame:doh0715:

Keep in mind that this is just the mock up phase and changes will be made. Like i am still going to fully box the front frame horns, and alot of the stuff is only tack welded into place until final placement is determined And i will be adding Gussets to various things . Also i havent decised wehter i like the shackle mounts or not, they may need to be modified and re-enforced some more as well as some grinding those rough edges.

And finally the outlook on how much i am going to get done in the next few days:banghead :banghead :banghead :banghead :banghead :cry

That truck would be nice with less "spring hanger" lift. you need to run a shackle through the frame, and shorten up the front hanger even more.
