What year?..solid front axle?..whose lift? I have an 'old school' Skyjacker system in my '78 on 38.5s and the flex and ride leave a LOT to be desired. The newer systems available are a huge improvement over the old Skyjacker/Superlift/Rancho stuff of days gone by.

If yours is a late model OJB with twin traction beam, its never going to flex all that great in the front. It will be awesome for smoothing out the whoops at high speeds across the desert, but its not the best front axle setup for getting articulation for rockcrawling and technical trails. You can do a straight axle swap, there is a lot of info here and over on fullsizebronco.com and elsewhere on the net. If yours already has a straight axle (78/79 or the previous owner already did an SAS) you can free it up by using longer radius arms (from BC Broncos, Cage, James Duff, and others), or by buying or fabricating a wristed radius arm, or by installing a Wristed Axle Housing unit from BC Broncos in your D44. I loved the WAH I had in the D44 in my EB.

Yeah Twin Traction Beams don't flex for shit :flipoff2:

The problem is clearly that 8" lift in any case though. Get a reasonable lift on there with some good flexible coils, and dump the swaybars (if it has them). 38" is too much tire for the stock D44 and 8.8 or 9 (whatever it may be) anyway.

Posting that picture clearly illustrates that a motivated redneck can defy the laws of gravity. Nice job stacking the wood pile!

Most people lift for looks. Check to see if your front spring buckets have been lowered. If so then put them back in place and get some "superflex" brand springs.

hell yeh if there called "superflex" then they gotta be tight!! no really, your not gonna have much flex with the TTB and sway bars hooked up.if there not hooked up then thats all you got to play with.Go solid axle or go home, lol.but seriously your not gonna "flex" the TTB front end, flat out.

Junkie.. Way to go with the wood pile! Looks like your front does pretty good, but not like "wow look at that ttb go". Mine does nearly as well & the only mods done to it are a big hole in the top of the diff & a new set of hubs after every trip.

its a 86 full size, 8 inch skyjacker lift, i think ill straight axle it?

Lol, yeah I had it collapse before I figured out the blocks go lengthwise to the truck, not crossways (plus I wasn't motivated enough to build a poser ramp out of $200+ of precious steel. The wood was already laying around, so "redneck-style" it was)

Don't have that problem here :flipoff2: (you ARE aware of the Jeep hub swap, right??)

Well, if you gotta keep it so high it's scraping the moon, a straightaxle would certainly make it easier to straighten out the steering mess any TTB would have at that height, but you'll still have to ditch the stiffassed coils and wrist the radius arm to get decent flex.

Also, what about the rear? If you got huge blocks and add-a-leafs in there, you'll need to lose those too.

Well, I have since gone to the skyjacker class 2 that I got for $75 with no radius arms & havent really cared about the hole in the diff.. I knew it was gonna happen I guess. And yes I know about the jeep hubs, but I have lots of spares & I work at a major offroad shop that happens to keep them in stock so theyre easy to warrenty. That & Im not spendin any more money on the damn ttb. I like it, but its not worth the money.

Well, I s'pose extended arms would be another option, yes
Looks like the rear needs a bit more help with flex now :flipoff2:

The springs certainly will have a greater influence on flex with any suspension though.

Its a measly 17" or so at both ends, but it gets me around. :)

OR, you could just be wrong again :flipoff2:

(he ramped 874 in one direction and 863 in the other, pretty even actually)

deaver springs kick ass...
I run 6" superflex in mine, and with stock radius arms, I can ramp a 1050.. with a 133" WB.
I plan on extending them in a few weeks though, as well as inboarding the rear springs.

That doesn't mean both ends are flexing the same, you gotta tape-measure the tires at the fenders or something :flipoff2:

Look at the difference in how much the body's leaned over with it backward on the ramp vs. forward.

Looks more like fixing a D44 problem to me :flipoff2:

IMO, a 60 swap is the only way to do it really.
