I was doing a little work on my fj62 DD and came across this t-case slop thing. Seems like I read something about a common problem with the 62 but can't remember what it turned out to be. I didn't get to do much investigation as I suffered a little back injury and the heating pad seemed more appropriate at the moment. Can anybody tell me where to start looking? I would like to get an idea of what I am facing cause this is going to drive me crazy sitting here and not being able to tear in to it to see what is going on. Thanks in advance.

Wear on the output shaft splines on the A440 tranny is a common problem. You can often hear a clunk when you shift from D to R.

Tep - I hear it also. I spent some time searching last night and found the info on Jack McNameras replacement gear. Looks like I'll be down a while...
