Well was a bit bored today and have been thinking of this idea for a while....Also was having tons of problems with my TBT tire carrier...so I did away with it!!!:D

Basically I built my box/tono cover a few months ago and it needed "something" so I gave it a 35x12.5" meat and a 48" highlift jack...

What do yall think?

I have never been a huge fan of rear tire mounts on jeeps with real big tires, but there isn't a lot of other options. This is a good idea but it really limits space in an already small vehicle. For day wheeling you should be great, I like to camp and wheel and want more space.

just my $.02

To be honest I camp quite a bit too....Thats one reason I'm looking for a roof rack. Also the main reason I pulled the tire from the back is that I dont think I can make it over one ledge or drop without it banging. Overall I'm happy with the way its worked out. Plus my interior smells great :flipoff2:

I to camp a bit. I can't find a roof rack that is easy to get stuff on and off because of the hieght of the rack and the weight limit of the racks is a problem. The last trip I was on, I had to carry 50 gal of fuel and 50 gal of water. The weight of that alone wouldn't work on a roof rack. The tire could be carried on the roof rack, but I am not sure I want to get the tire up and down from the rack when I need it. Oh I also had to carry the food and all the gear for a 2 week off road trip with me. I was full from the bed to the roof, back seat removed. I can carry 20 gallon rear bumper tire swing out (it is custom built).

Excellent job on the relocation, I have been facing the same problem and trying to get my spare off the rear door. I have 32x11.5x15 soon to be 33's
and the rattles and wear and tear on the door mount are driving me nuts.
I already pulled the rear seat out for more cargo area and was thinking of putting it in there with a deck above for my tools. I am also working on retrofitting an old trailer into an offroad trailer to haul stuff on extended trips.
I ordered a new rear bumper from Bestop with the receiver hitch and D ring mounts. Just waiting for it to come in new product takes time. I will mount another spare in the trailer for extended trips. I need to mount my spare on the rear floor as I need gun racks above for hunting trips. But I like your idea
looks real good as well.:D

If you got one of those cargo net systems they sell you could pile shit up on top of that cover.

Those nets are kinda stupid you don't really see a need for them untill you have something like this. I never understood why have them, they look kinda poopish... dunno would work real good here.

Hopefully I'll have your website finished by the end of this week. I have to work a lot so never know when I'll get to work on it.
