i have a cherokee with a np231 transfer case and an AW4 transmission, and i wanted to know if the front output yoke on the transfer case would fit the stock rear output shaft ??? does the size of the yoke and spline count match up ???

thanks, jeep_87_cherokee :flipoff2:

one's fixed and one's a slip. How you gonna retain it? hack and tap? The yoke won't fit in the rear output seal, anyway. Do you want to BUILD a SYE?

my plans are to Build or Assemble a cheap SYE that would work with the front driveshaft of a xj. i plan on removing the rear slip yoke and the rear tail housing and then cut down the rear output shaft of the transfer case. i plan on sealing the output shaft by using just rubicon express hack n tap output shaft SEAL and not the flange. my plan for have the front ouput yoke to fasten to the rear output shaft by drilling and tapping a hole in the rear output shaft much like the hack n tap kit. then using the proper size bolt that would fit into the area on the yoke where the nut would have been as if it were mounted on the front output shaft. so my plan for the buildup of a SYE kit is just a variant of the Hack n Tap kit. just with a different yoke instead of the RE flange.

so does anyone still know if the front output yoke has the same number of splines as the stock rear output shaft????? and if the front output yoke will fit the stock rear output shaft ?????
