All 92-95 Cherokee Owners

When you get a chance, could you please go out and look at your ECU and post the numbers on this thread?

I am wondering how far back a 95 ECU will work in a Cherokee. The ECU that I am buying reads: 56028851. It is from a 95 4.0HO with a manual transmission. I am buying a 4.0/AX15/NP231, and there are 3 Cherokees at the junkyard, but none of them have ECUs, so I am trying to match a ECU to one of the engines. Thanks.

Should work back to 91. To the best of my knowledge all OBD-I 4.0s used the same setup.

Sounds good. How about the interchangeability of ECUs between 91-95 4.0 Wranglers and 92-95 4.0 Cherokees assuming they have manual transmissions?

When I did my 4banger~I6 swap, the cherokee I got had a security system built in. I had to get an ECU without the security module. I had a 92 engine, and the ECU I used was from a 95.
