Nice to see a board where folks say what they mean and mean what they say. I thought I'd register so I could post on Mike's thread about seats.
I don't know Jack, so I'll mostly be quiet.
I have a 109 SW with a gutless 2.25 soon to be yanked out and replaced by a 3.4 Cummins courtesy of Timm Cooper. My budget just went up a few grand so I'm hopefull I'll be going with Arbs front and rear too..... I also have four young kids (and a demanding spousal unit) and so a very short leash and little time.... But I'd love to Rubicon it maybe in the fall, more likely fall 2003.
Sad but true.
And before you guys can do it to me, :flipoff2:

Well, as a humble Newbie ( I am not worthy...), I wanted to keep my post short - less for you guys to pick on....
The rear end is a salisbury and skookum strong as you know. Front is a stock rover axle/diff. Reality and finances might say the front doen't get a locker. Right now I've got a minor lift over stock/worn out springs with parabolics/OME shocks, and I am running crappy 235/85/16s, but planning to drop a wad on 255 MTRs and some offset rims if I have enough in the budget after the engine transplant.
I'll also need some beefier front springs. I am not sure I want to trim the body so I don't plan on getting to radical with the tires. We'll see. Like I said I don't know jack - I want the rig to be capable/reliable and then start learning.
I'm checking out. time for a  !

go with front and rear D44s out of a mid 70s jeep wagoneer... strong enough for you in the rear, and WAY WAY WAY WAY WAY WAY WAY WAY WAY stronger in the front. i guarantee that with the diesel, no front axle parts will last longer than 6 months off roading. especially with 255/85s.
and why dont you want to cut the body? its more reliable than a lift :D

Hey you guys be nice to my man Simon! :flipoff2:
Trust me he'll get exactly what it is that he *needs* to do what he *wants* with the truck. Cooper will make sure of that I'm positive.
Glad to see you join a bunch of no good red neck SOB's that could just give a rat's rip who they piss off! Hehe!
Oh, and you do know Jack, you just don't realize it. The fact that you're on this board says something (friggin' Discoweb!).
Anyway, it's time for bed.....
Michael
Oh yeah, here's my 'official' POR welcome Simon!

Who is this Jack and how can I get in contact with him. Sounds like a bloke that I should try to get to know.
Welcome newbie, :flipoff2:

You might be right on the 44. I don't know. A locker up front is probably overkill for me right now anyway. I need to get the rig reliable and Able, and then get off the leash and go wheel it, learn and then figure what to do. If it fits in the budget this year maybe I'll do a locker up front.
If Timm thinks I need to trim the fenders, fine. Believe me, I don't think the sheetmetal is sacred.
Thanks for defending my "honor" Mike. Don't know how I got here, but glad to be here. If redneck means not restoring my rover to "concours" shape and then parking it and living with the weak rover engine, I'm a redneck. I did grow up in the woods - after all.
Jack is a good friend of mine. But when it comes to wheeling, he acts like he doesn't know me! His last name is Shite. He is not a Pothead Focker and neither am I. Don't know where you can find him.
My Pie Hole is now shut. No more posts from me unless its something I know about - like changing diapers or cleaning the gutters or getting P whipped. That last one is something I know about. Let me tell you.
