i am running 31" mud terrains and a two inch lift on my 88 pick-up. the front sits a bit lower then the back and has not a lot of clearence between the inner fenderwell and the top of the tire. when i come on contact with any good size bump the tires bottom out on the plastic inner fenderwell. the shocks are old and will be replaced soon, helping a bit, but it most likely will still bottom out. I have done a bit of searching online and couldnt seem to come across any baja fenders or flared fenders for my truck.

Does anyone know of a company who produces baja or flared fenders for Isuzu pick-ups??? or has some that would fit my truck that would like to sell??

any help would be greatly appriciated.

thanks a lot,

Nick

Just curious but what lift are you running? with a 2 in you should clear 31's no problem. Did you only lift the rear? Do you have ball joint spacer's? how far are your torsion bars turned up? as far as the flared fenders i don't know where you would find something like that other than getting out the sawzall:flipoff2:

i purchased 2" rear lift shackles from Calmini. i know the torsion bars arent cranked up all the way but they are pretty close. and no i havent installed balljoint spacers. im not to familiar with them. are they an effective means of lifting the front of my p-up? if so, what manufacture produces them and for about how much? the tires clear fine while driving and when im playing in the dirt but when it gets to be a little bit rough it tends to hit the inner plastic guard.

Matt's site (http://www.independent4x.com/category.html?UCIDs=839915%7C1109486) has them you can order them there or PM him here on the board under screen name TrooperRS.

They don't make your lift any higher but they do help with your alignment when you turn up your torsion bars. I would try turning the torsion bars up more if you can but just make sure that you leave your self a little bit of down travel. other than that get out the sawzall like I said before.

How in the world are you rubbing like crazy w/ 31's? I have a '90 Trooper w/ 10.5" Wide 31's with just a 1" Body Lift and Ive only rubbed once.

Over on 4x4wire someone made some custom flares, but to my knowledge there arent any you can buy. Universal or customize?

Is it 4x2? or 4x4? i could see you having this problem with the 4x2 pickup. My 90 4x4 pickup(same body style as yours) came with 31s stock.

it would be a 4x2. removing the plastic lining will probably solve my problem. i was just curious to see if there was anything out there. thanx a bunch.

My 90 4x4 pickup(same body style as yours)

I thought all of the body style changed in 1989. That would make his '88 the older style with the flat fenders.

You could just heat up and bend the part the tires are rubbing on (should be pretty obvious where they are hitting) instead of removing the entire piece.
