Well, I just got rid of the CJ, needed a trail rig to tote some people around in. Got an XJ. I am about to put a 3." lift on it. What type of tire do you all think I should run. I was thinking about a 32x10.50x15 TSL. I am wheeling in the Southeast, so a tire that does well on wet rocks is needed as well as a fairly decent wearing tire cause I will be driving it on the street daily. And, no, I am not afraid to trim the fenders to fit the 32s. The new LTB sounded nice, but I have hears things about the tread wearing quickly. Any opinions on what I should buy?

you will be lucky to fit 32 with 3 inches of lift, maybe 31's!

Where do these people come from? First, try the search function located on this BB, it's a virtual cornucopia of knowledge. Then, install the lift, measure/test fit, then order what you need. It's not a complicated issue.

you should have searched......but this wrangler guy dont know sh*t about cherokees.....I ran 33's with a RE 3.5" lift for several years.....if you aint afraid of cutting it will work....you can run 32's without any real mods to the fenders.....use 4.5" backspacing on the 8" rims and all you will need to trim is a bout 1/2" out f the rear of the front fender well.....

Sawzall's are our friends. :D So narrow it down by type of tire. Biased ply or radial? What is your main goal? Trail or street manners? What kind of commute do you have and is this rig your DD? There are more opinions than assholes on this board so go with your gut. If you don't like them, you always go the next set in about 20-30k miles.

Yeah, I remember when YJ's were the crap at the bottom of the 4x4 performance heap. Boy, it wasn't that long ago, was it? Then some creative homegrown's and a good aftermarket brought this model closer to the front of the worthy rig list. Still not in front of the good ol' XJ though. ;)

As you can see here...........

..........I am asking what type of tire I should run, and not what size.

Should I go for a TSL, TSL radial, TSL SX, Baja Claw, etc. What have you Cherokee owners found that works well given that I will be running either a 31 or 32" tire.

to be honest with you i don't have a clue, I bought the rims and tires off of friend for 100.00 beans, I could care less what the spaceing is, they look good, it's a daily driver,! you are probably correct!

The new Goodyear MTR's are the hot pick for rock crawlin these days. I suggest you try to hook up with some used TSL's and see how you like em. BFG mudders work well on my rig but I'm moving over to TSL's in a feew weeks.

Always remember half these noitalls were dumb ass newbies at one time. I have yet to meet anyone born as an all knowing rock crawler, so :flipoff2: :smokin:
