I've been planning on building a TJ so I sold all my Scouts including a real nice 67 800, SOA on 35's. The only thing I have left is 2 sets of Scout II disc brake Dana 44 axles. I have been without a trail rig for several months now. I've been tempted to buying a junker $300 Scout (their are 2 within 5 miles of my ranch) but I really want a TJ. The original plan was to buy the nicest TJ that I could find for $10,000 and build from there.
Well, the neighbor's uncle just died and left him a real nice 72 Jeepster. It's all original with little or no rust. He's wanting to sell it to me, price has not been agreed on yet. After seeing it I automaticaly start thinking it would be killer with my Dana 44's and 35's.
So now I have 2 ways to go. 1. I could clean up the Jeepster and sell it to a purest at a profit (I hope) than continue my original plans with the TJ build, or. 2. I could keep the Jeepster and build into an off road machine. What do you guys think?
