: Need LT-230 Linkage ASAP... NE1 HAVE 1?

Hey guys,

I'm still trying to finish this LT-230 install and when I went to install the linkage it doesn't fit. I'm not using the BW linkage as I know it doesn't fit. I purchased what was supposed to be a LT-230 linkage from someone and the holes are about 3 3/4" vs 4 3/8" wide. Maybe it's from a Series box???

Any how, I'm already 2 days behind so if someone has a linkage setup from a D1/RRC or a DII with the difflock I'd pay for it to be sent Next Day Air.

Please call me as I'm away from my office and cannot check email.

Thanks - 904-662-1414

Correction, I think I am missing a bracket that goes in between the linkage and the ZF box.. Can anyone confirm?

The issue is that the spacing of the bolts on the governor housing are too narrow on the LT-230 bracket vs those on the transmission.

While on the phone with Jason, I measured several governor housings and all of mine were about 4 3/8" bolt spacing whereas the one he has is on the order of about 3 3/4" wide. We were both surmising that the shifter in question may have come from a Defender (or 90/110) with something other than a ZF autobox. My suggestion of making an adapter plate did not sit well with Red Rhino.

Ok guys, got it figured. I sourced a bracket thanks to Rick Sanders which I have to replace soon [Still looking for one if someone has one.] The part # on the bracket was FRC8558 and the easiest way to explain it is that the actual shifter for the LT-230 bolts to this and this bracket steps down and back about 3" and then mounts to the top of the govnuh housing with four bolts.

Also, FWIW I re-used the BorgWarner parking brake backing plate/guts by marking and redrilling the holes vs. replacing it with a LT-230 one as some people suggested. I didn't see a problem with and it's high and tight as of now so I'm not going to worry about it. :D

Thanks everyone! If I'm lucky I might get this thing back together and on the road tomorrow. I still have the change the lengths on my shafts and balance them along with put this POS back together. We shall see!

As for PT's comment about making a bracket not sitting well with me, your damn right! I don't own a welder! :flipoff2:

PS - Like I said, I still need one of those brackets so if anyone has one please let me know.

Not sure Matt. All those BW boxes on Classics must be dying...
