Are all steering columns created equal?

I'm having trouble tracking down a 92 Wrangler steering column and am wondering if a 92 cherokee column is the same as they seem to be more plentiful at the wrecking yards.

also you can try a s-10 blazer one, that is what i have in my 88 yj

I did it, www.ididit.com, sells a column that has an iginition switch in it if you want a new column.
