: Mike Shaffer is looking for a club to "join" for Carnage for the 'Con....
Lance 04-18-2002, 09:00 PM Ok, here's the deal.... Mike Shaffer, current 2002 RCAA Champ, and last year's CalROCS champ, is looking for a club to team up with for Carnage FOR the Con II. The catch?????
He's on the auction block.
The club that is the highest bidder gets Mike on their team. The money goes directly to the Blue Ribbon El Dorado Forest Fund.
So who wants him?
rockhog 04-18-2002, 09:21 PM Zombie dudes lets get some cash together that dude can wheel!

FLASHLIGHTMAN 04-19-2002, 07:29 AM A RCRC sticker sure would look nice on Mike's rig for the comp!!
Sounds like a win win situation for everyone!!
Mustard Dog 04-19-2002, 07:44 AM It is a great idea for raising dough for the cause;)
Any idea yet on what each clubs "entry donation" will be:D
Rock Toy 04-19-2002, 07:59 AM Lame:rolleyes: I thought this was a club challenge...as in, BRING WHAT YOU GOT!!! No thank you. We'll wheel the challenge as a club and see how we do.
brainless 04-19-2002, 08:29 AM sergei you have to make the event in order to compete seeing as you and your bro dont wheel anywhere but the web you could use shaffer :flipoff2:

Oh yea, one more thing. I'm not the one that traded by wheeler for a Harley

b) Like already mentioned, Mike wasn't driving, Rocksie was. :p

Yea, but who wants to be the team that wins because MIKE SCHAFFER was on their team?!? Are we all gonna go out buy talent in order to win a "club" challenge?
If you want to raise some $$$ for charity using Schaffer, why don't you have him auction some of his skills (cage work, bumpers, etc.) for charity? I think that'll generate more interest.
Just my $.02
Rocksie 04-19-2002, 10:10 AM Yah...that's a great idea. Im sure Shaffer has plenty of time to donate fab skills before July:rolleyes:

I think the good intentions were over looked here.

Rock Toy 04-19-2002, 10:29 AM I'm tossing out ideas just like Lance tossed out an idea. He's not any more right than I am.
Good intentions were not overlooked. I simply think that it makes us look bad to be buying talent, regardless of good intentions.

I am with you girlfriend. The intentions WERE completely overlooked.
Mike does not belong to a club but would like to wheel in carnage on the con. If, say the pirates, just picked him as an honorary member than the other clubs would automatically say it was cheating. So the fair opportunity to have him as part of your team is not buy HIM...it is to donate the most money for a cause that we support. If you don't want him that is cool. Question is would you donate for the cause anyway?
Rock Toy 04-19-2002, 10:32 AM ..and he doesn't have to donate anything before July. He can donate his time after July if he wants.....after all, its for charity
4x4Grrl 04-19-2002, 10:34 AM Oh another thing...Mike is a really cool guy. He is not one of those swollen head pricks that can't come down to earth.
Scout Dude 04-19-2002, 10:38 AM I guess my reply was taking wrong..it wasn't based upon Mike driving or not...it was based on Terry winning and the Schmuck comment.;)

Sergei, why the hell does mike have to donate his fab skills to charity?!?!?! wtf does that have to do with Carnage for the Con????? Why don't you donate your Financial Advisor skills to charity? WTF?!?!?! We are talking about WHEELING here.
Rock Toy 04-19-2002, 11:11 AM I thought we were talking about charity

We are talking about WHEELING for charity, not fabbing or financial advising for charity.
Rock Toy 04-19-2002, 11:13 AM ....and I'm not a Financial Advisor. You wouldn't want my financial advise :flipoff2:

Ok lets try to focus here ...We are talking about auctioning someone off...putting the money toward charity...so that person can go wheelin.... :D
Mustard Dog 04-19-2002, 11:29 AM Lance this is a great idea and the intention is good, however I think with the amount of shit talking that will be awarded to the winning club, it will somehow dillute it if Mike is on that team.
"You guys only won cause you had the Hired Gun" Know what I mean?
I hope this make sense;)
Rocksie 04-19-2002, 11:32 AM ...so what would be a better way to do this?
attachcurrie 04-19-2002, 11:33 AM Carnage on the Con was an awesome event, our first time to the Con as well, and it was to decide what club had the best rigs. So if you put Mike S. on a team it defeats the whole purpose of the original. I know it's for charity but there are so many other ways to raise money besides defeating the purpose of the competition. Just my look on it as an outsider.

Well let's do the math with last year's scores....
Let's say Shaffer was on team Bender last year, and got a perfect score of ZERO. Team Bender would STILL have lost to POR by 20 points. ;)
FLASHLIGHTMAN 04-19-2002, 11:59 AM Your loosing the point here guys
THAT was Carnage ON the CON
THIS IS FOR THE CON get it??...A CHARITY!!!
the purpose is to raise money FOR the con, if your pussy ass club gets spanked because a smarter club donates more cash to keep the con open we all win..
With that said let Rocksie drive Mikes rig, and an offical club member spot
Flatty 04-19-2002, 12:22 PM I agree with flashlighman here. Maybe we can change this to be an auction for his rig for athe comp. Let a club meber of whicever club wants to rent his rig for the event. It is still a club challenge, and the Con still get the fuindage. This way the club with the rig can say it was a lot of driver's skill, not only the rig that won the event.

Dude! That is kind of overboard. Renting out his rig that would more than likely inevitably end up getting a few thousand $ of damage having somebody that does not know his rig driving in a mini competition. Maybe we should just forget this offer.
So, what's the current high bid?
Lance 04-19-2002, 12:47 PM Forget it..... This offer has been withdrawn.
