Pre-76 I think.

Up to 78 i think, but the 44 was inter mixed with the 10 bolt till almost 80 or 81. All ya gotta do is look at hte front end if it's a 10 bolt it will have ears on the top and bottom sticking off, well I call them ears anyway. The 44 doesn't have this shape. Hope this helps.

ALL 76 & under......some 77-78's....Look for the 76 under they have the famous "flat top" knuckles for X-over......:D

my cousin has a 1979 with an 8 lug dana44

69 inches WMS to WMS for 8 lug chevy 44.

about 67" for 6 lug

My brother's '80 3/4 ton has a 44. His '79 3/4 ton has a 10 bolt. Have seen a '79 1/2 ton w/a 44. Don't know why they still used them.
