Ok so on my truck I got newer springs for the rear so I thought whall i'm in there why not do a shackle flip fore a cupel of inches of lift.
On my truck it's very easy to do just pop out the old rivets flip the shacle over and all the hols line up, then replace the rivets with grade 8 bolts. well I was thinking that, that might not be all that good due to weaght i.e. a cammper. somthing might brake since the truck is no longer "hanging" off the springs

so whats your opinion

I did a shackle flip on my F-250 no difference in the load handling at all. I did have to move my bracket forward about 2" to get the proper shackle angle. The weight is still distributed the same regaurdless of if it's standing on the bracket or hanging from the bracket it all lies on the mounting bolt.

There's a couple of guys over on www.coloradok5.com that had problems with TOWING, but not load capacity.

the only strength concern comes up because the stock shackle is no longer in tension but in compression, I boxed mine in just to be sure but I doubt they would ever fail.

Hey Chief, here is an article from 2Big Broncos that I looked at before doing mine.
