all right guys i come to you seeking help. i just bought a 79 scout II. we were able to get it running tonight for the first time. the guy i bought it from said the clutch would not disengage. i have moved the clutch pedal with my hand and there is no resistance. the linkage moves alright and is not in a bind. it will move all the way to the trans. does anyone have any ideas on what the problem might be? i was thinking maybe a throwout bearing or maybe something else broke inside the clutch. anyone have any ideas that would help me? thanks guys for the help.

Where in Indiana are you? If you are near me I might be able to look at it.
IIRC the throwout bearing fork is held by a roll pin (probably press fit too) I would look there first.

Maybe the friction disk is rusted to the flywheel?
